Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor will have minor hip surgery to clean up a problem from last year, according to a source.

The procedure is not considered to be major and is not as severe as the surgery that kept wide receiver Percy Harvin out for most of last season.

The date of the surgery hasn't been scheduled.

Chancellor, 25, had 99 tackles and three interceptions in 16 games for Seattle last season.

I note that the story forgot to add to the final sentence, "and had one of the greatest postseasons ever seen at the Safety position in NFL history."

Lets hope it truly is minor!

Cut him ... ha ha!

I am sure someone is still going to bash me for posting the above line after seeing red before finishing the sentence.

Anyway, I hope things go well for Kam with this procedure. It always sound like something simple when it isn't you going through the procedure and rehab.

Chancellor played on that injured hip for much of the season. He is truly a beast. So glad they were able to extend him through 2017 on a reasonable deal.

Man...Chancellor is a beast. He balled out of his mind in the playoffs and he had an injured hip? Man, imagine when this guy doesn't require surgery in the offseason. Next jersey for sure

What is it with hip surgery and the Seahawks?

I think it's blowback from the football gods for our man Shaun Alexander always choosing to fall sideways onto his hips to avoid contact/getting hurt, unless he was inside the 10 yd. line. :229031_confused2:

why are you yelling? :)

although I do find it interesting that during his after Superbowl press conference Pete did said that no one had to go in for any type of surgery. Guess this just flaired up recently.

He sat out some practices this year due to the hip. He's been dealing with it for a couple years now and probably just decided enough was enough. If he's going to have the surgery, it might as well be this off season.

I admit that I am skeptical about the outcome of "minor hip surgery". IMO...nothing is minor when the surgeon is grinding off those "minor irregularities".

The hell you up to, John Clayton?

No kidding. You know, even die hard fans can handle a little quiet time in the offseason. Be nice if these "journalists" could keep that in mind. The damn 24 hour news cycle....
