I have been a few places recently. Watched the Broncos-Ravens game at the Caesar's sportsbook in Vegas. Had my new authentic home 12 and Seahawks hat on. No fewer than 14 people came up to me to talk Seahawks or said "Go Hawks!" as we passed each other. Some said some really tool-like shit but most/80% were super cool and legit about it.

Now, I have been to Vegas 45-55 times in my life and I always have Seahawks gear on my body. The recognition/attention has never been that great. (It was also noteworthy that only 25% or so of those who did acknowledge the Hawks through me were similarly adorned.)

Yesterday I flew into Amsterdam, Netherlands. Been here about 7 or 8 times prior. Went up to Customs with my passport and all the guy did was point to my hat and talk about the Seahawks, our game vs the Panthers and our upcoming game vs the Niners. He feels we should have a very exciting 'match' this Sunday....

Tonight, I went to see Soundgarden at the Heineken Music Hall (again in Seahawks jersey and hat). The guy who scanned my ticket yelled, in his Dutch accent; "Go Seahawks!".

I lived in Vegas for 10 years. I usually wore a Hawks hat around town.

Even in 2005 we didn't get this much pub, although after SB XL, almost everyone I met told me "damn, you guys got screwed" and "worst SB officiating ever". Nothing about how dominant our team was, just how we got boned.

I moved up to Oregon 2 years ago, and even right before I left, most people would talk about Pete the Cheat and how he would probably fail, but that's about it. Nice to see we're getting some positive responses.

As an aside, next time you're in Vegas, tune into the AM sports radio stations. Probably the best sports radio in the entire country. They're not really homers of anyone, but they know a lot about damn near everything.
