You know, I'm fine with this. Ifedi consistently has felt like he's behind expectations and salary considerations. And getting him to shake his draft position in contract positions is not worth, I guess?

Does anyone know what Ifedi's option year contact numbers would look like?

If they had of exercised the 5th year option, it would have been $10.35 million in 2020.

No, not surprising at all......the 5th year option would be almost as much as we're paying Duane Brown next year.

Also Ifedi is a textbook example of why Pete and John like to drop down into the early 2nd round, so they get the 2nd round 5th year option discount.

About as shocking as hearing a Led Zeppelin song on a classic rock station.

The answer to what Ifedi's potential deal would have been is as now EDITED is, $10,350,000 (https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/agen ... from-2016/) for the 5th year of his deal. Numbers pointed out to me by Jville, see below.

Even if he had a better year than last year, his 4 year record doesn't support that contract. Besides even if he has a good 2019 year the team may acquire a Comp pick for him. Can't see him being kept.

Ya, you can't justify paying him that when you have a couple of young guys that could play that spot for much less + get a solid comp pick when he signs for around that elsewhere.

Not surprised at all, take PFF rating for whatever its worth but Fant is ranked a lot higher than Ifedi.

Fant: 72.6 Above average (https://www.profootballfocus.com/nfl/pl ... fant/11282)
Ifedi: 55.6 average (https://www.profootballfocus.com/nfl/pl ... fedi/10665)
as a benchmark:
Brown: 82.3 Good ( https://www.profootballfocus.com/nfl/pl ... brown/4340)

Let's say Ifedi has a breakout year this season and make probowl, John can still sign him or franchise him? As is, Fant already sign his extension and Solaris must feel pretty positive about Jamarco, there's no rush to extend Ifedi.

Future is still in Ifedi's own hands, he needs to have to huge improvement this season.

Ifedi is too slow to seal the edge. He's serviceable but that's about it.

Pass.

The answer to what Ifedi's potential deal would have been is $8,265,106( spotrac numbers) for the 5th year of his deal.

That $8,265,105 number is actually the total value of Ifedi's original contract .... not the value of a declined 5th year option. I've learned to be careful with spotrac charts. The $10,350,000 figure is the correct number.

Here is a link with the table for all the 5th year options considered this year and from which the $10,350,000 figure was found for Ifedi's declined option >>> [urltargetblank]https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/agents-take-a-fifth-year-option-guide-for-every-teams-first-round-pick-from-2016/[/urltargetblank]

Ifedi had a great combine and measurable. Somehow the greatness hasn’t quite translate into performances.

I think he's made some definite improvements but, the option to pick him back up is really pricey considering it's on par with Duane Brown.

Kinda hate to see him go...from the limited social media clips I've seen of him, he seems like a genuine "good" guy. Hope the best for him!

If he has a truly breakout season, we could still sign him.

Not sure on the rules here but, I've read that not picking up his option will allow him to test the market and potentially let us resign him for a lower amount.

He has progressed....and our O-line was a refreshing surprise last season with the staff changes and all. The penalties were ridiculous but...there were improvements.

Every team goes through transitions but...feels like the Hawks have went through A LOT in recent years. LOB, Bennett, now Clark....potentially Baldwin. You know the effect when/if it warms your heart to see folks like Kam pacing the sidelines during games.

I think we have seen more potential in some of our other guys, One year Solari did what Cable could not ever do, make him serviceable.

Agreed, it doesnt mean he will definitely go just that Ifedi will control his destiny and not the Seahawks. If he balls out it could possibly be the wrong decision but it seems the correct one to me at this time..
