Advanced stats: Seahawks best team in the NFL

I don't know yet what I think of the Football Power Index, but lists are fun.

Well the guys on NFL network says its the Eagles and hardly mention us, so take it for what it is worth!

Good question!

We have 4 wins against teams ranked 17-32.

2 wins vs 31, 32 ranked teams.

2 losses vs 22, 24 ranked teams.

Best win was vs Texans 15th ranked.

No matchups vs the top 11, 10 excluding Hawks.

Yet, we are top?

Well this is "advanced" stats. I believe they take the total in recent years "team futility" and rank you down with their formula. That would also explain the Rams at 17. :twisted:

I would like to know the data points and metrics they use. The only way I could see this ranking possible is to give a numerical value to indicidual starters based on multiple year data available. Possible a few individual metrics on historic team stats.

I just see many issues with this list that doesnt match up with actual wins and losses, especially this year.

But yeah, lists are super fun when it shows us on top. I'll just stop thinking about it and be happy.
