Davis Hsu recently sent me a "way too early" roster prediction for the 2016 season and part of that are a couple of pretty illuminating infographic spreadsheets, laid out to show how Seattle's roster is constructed with regards to age and draft year.

Kind of sucks to consider that guys like Sherm, Bennett, Avril and Kam are getting older. Never want to see them slow down.

This pretty much shows we are in the best possible situation to win right now. All our key players are firmly in their prime but won't be for long. If we want to win a SB we better do it in 2016 or 2017 because without some stellar drafts we will slide a bit in the hierarchy.

"A" Super Bowl? Why not 2016 "AND" 2017?

This is what the youngest roster in the NFL looks like.

The only two players over 30 are veteran former Seahawks added for their experience (Clemons and Browner). Players like Sherman, Thomas, Wagner, Wright, etc. could have at least three more years of elite level play. A guy like Sherman, who is so technically sound, could play a long time in this league because he doesn't really rely on speed. Tall corners like Mike Haynes, Rod Woodson, Mel Blount, and Willie Brown all played at a high level until their mid-30s. We are just scratching the surface with this deep and talented group of first and second year players. And Russell Wilson may not hit his peak as a QB for another five or six seasons.

These are truly the glory years. Enjoy 'em while you can because it doesn't get much better than this.

Winning a Super Bowl is kind of special (looking at how we only won one in 40 years) but now that you put it like that, why not? Would be amazing to win 3 SBs in 5 years.

Biggest takeaway here is that our D-Line is starting to age. If our O-Line draftees pan out we should be pretty set on offense for years. The good news is that next year's draft is pretty heavy on pass rushers. If we can start re-loading there we can be contenders for 5+ years.
