Wow, what a fall from grace for Nowak. Apparently the coaches were really not pleased with his failure to improve as the center.

Not a surprise that Nowak would eventually get released from the 53 once Lewis was healthy. 3 centers on the roster is a bit of a luxury and Nowak apparently can't backup at the guard position at this point in his career. Assuming he doesn't get picked up on waivers (which I don't think he will), the Hawks will sign him back to their practice squad at some point this year.

Even if they don't (which I assume they will) sign him to the practice squad for whatever reason, I'm sure they'll pick him up when the rosters expand in the off season.

I felt at the time that the expectations were too high to have him start at center with zero real experience at the position. I would have rather seen him on the PS all year and learning a bit before being thrown to the wolves (so to speak).

Well Nowak was a DT with the Jags.. But he must not have been that great for seattle to switch him back to DT. Because the Jags made him a Guard.. But Chase Coffman wasn't he like " one of the best" in college during his time? Seems to me has hasnt been able to get his skills up to the NFL level ?

Just in case people are ignorant like me......

Practice squad requirements. via ehow...

Generally, the NFL allows players to serve on a team's practice squad for two years -- three if the team maintains a full 53-man roster at all times during that player's tenure. A player has played a year on a practice squad if he's played at least three weeks during a season. The two additional practice squad players allowed during 2014 and 2015 must play at least six weeks for that season to count as a year of practice squad service. Additionally, a player who's played one season on a team's active roster is ineligible to be a practice squad member, unless in that year he played fewer than nine games. The two additional players may have played as many as two seasons on the active roster.

Nowak will be back, even if it's only on the PS.

Absolutely not true. He had one of the best cheap shots of all time on - wait for it - an assistant coach vs. the Ravens. I am not tech savvy - someone will link the video I am sure.

He did have a nice clothesline hit on a Ravens coach that cost him 30K

Cable should be cut right along with him. Honestly, that was a boneheaded decision and more than the player should be held accountable.

Was that coach heckling him? If not, that move exceeds even a Sweezy level of dirty. We're getting one of Jim Mora's dirtbags.

Maybe a different Coaching philosophy will help him make the transition to the next level?

Keep in mind he isn't being brought in to replace Graham. Luke Willson is getting the bump in the depth chart.
