I've spent the last 3 hours laying in bed, tossing & turning. I'm supposed to be up for work in 4 hours. My stomach aches. My brain won't turn off. I keep thinking of the end of the game. What happened. What could've happened. What should've happened. This was the biggest loss of my Seahawk fandom. I want to just move on, get past it, but my mind won't let me. Different scenarios play out in my head. I can't turn it off. Alternate futures that might have been.

I don't know how to react to this. I'm so proud of this team and all the joy they've brought me. And to have it all end so suddenly. And to know it was self-inflicted. The end of game heartbreak that's the result of one of our own making such an egregious mistake. Right now I'm trying to reconcile the fact that I'm a fan of a team that, for the moment, employs one of the biggest villains in Seattle Sports history. This one is going to take a while to get over. The fallout from this is going to happen over an entire offseason and I don't know if I have the stomach for it.

A million twelves feel your pain brother. Just trust in the truth that your Seattle Seahawks are already favorites to win SB 50 because we really are still the best team in the NFL (minus one dipshit OC).

Blue skies ahead!

I'm right there with you.....almost 3AM here and I'm not even tired. I just cannot fathom how stupid that play call was. Period.

Jack Daniels - it's OTC.
I quit drinking a few years ago. I don't even want to think about what I'd be like right now if I was drinking.

I'm right there with ya. Tossed and turned for two hours and had to get up and vent a little on the interwebs.

The fallout will be bad on the east coast, Jay. I know it will. And I feel your pain. Imagine what it'll be like in Ninner country!!! I'm down here with the likes of Sac (and a few others whose names escape me at the moment.)

Suppaball's in your neck of the woods. You guys can commiserate together. I met him last summer when I was out there visiting my mom. Only consolation I have out here is most of the people in this area hate the Patriots so I won't have to hear too much gloating.

Tried going to bed after the game, got a few winks but not enough. I am sure I would be up if the team had won so I guess it is just not a night to get much rest. Kearse's drop was the turning point, the pessimist in me knew it was going to bite the team in the butt. Needed a 3 score lead because YAC by NE was killing the D. Oh well, dang it!

I'll be thinking about how we did not give the ball to Lynch to seal the deal everytime I think about the miracle catch by Kearse. Screw you Bevell for this :p

Still didn't get more than 30-45 minutes of sleep in any stretch. Called out sick because now I have a raging headache to add to the stomach ache. Still haven't turned the TV on.

This one hurt more than Super Bowl XL. I tossed and turned through the night. I didn't do better than a couple of power naps and even then, my brain just wouldn't shut off. I went over that goal line play over and over and over. At first, I saw no reason to pass and only thought run with Lynch or the Read Option (I preferred the read option), but as the night wore on and on, I came to understand the thinking behind a pass play and the clock, but the play was STILL the wrong one. There are a myriad of places you can draw up the routes to go, but through traffic in front of the goal line, in THAT situation is absolutely not one of them. Give Russell the opportunity to pick a guy in the endzone or throw it away and live to hand it off 2 times.

I came to work this morning knowing 2 things. We played our hearts out and had every opportunity to finish that game, but one bad call cost it. I tried to argue that there were a bunch of plays that eventually cost us, and usually I am down with that line of thinking, but not this time. Not this game. One play was the reason we lost this game.

Lastly, I am at work today, with the knowledge that we are still the best team in the NFL right now, and I don't see that changing this off season.

Closer than you think...
Worst sports fandom pain in my career. Worse than XL. I stripped my gears going from so happy to so sick in such a short amount of time. Still haven't recovered. I find myself just shaking my head involuntarily like blinking.
