Saw a rumor on twitter that he passed away. Is this true, or just a sick act of a few classless jackasses named Kim and Chris?

I haven't seen anything reported on any of the national sites, the Seattle paper, or UW's own site.

If James had passed away it would be all over the media here and on all the college pages.

That would definitely constitute big news around here. I wouldn't spread that one without serious confirmation.

Former UW Husky football coach Don James has died. The UW says James passed away Sunday morning at home with his family.

RIP Don.

What a sad day. He was as close to royalty as you could get, imho. You will always be loved and definitely missed Dawgfather.

Sad day for all Husky Fans, great man and had the fortitude to walk away from a game he loved because of what transpired here, I truly don't think he knew.

Classy man and soft spoken from all I have seen of him at least publicly.

The Huskies should do some tribute to him.

Very saddened by this. I sincerely hope he didn't have to see Saturday's game. And no, that is not shallow. Football is life and Don watched his life's work go to sh*t. Now I want Sark gone more than ever.

RIP Dawgfather and thank you very much. And now that you can, please walk over and punch Bill Walsh in the face.
