Great coach, one of the absolute greatest. Nothing but massive respect for Don James. Taught his players discipline, accountability, work ethic. He was married for 61 years. Watching his teams growing up has forever spoiled me as a football fan. He will be missed.

The space needle should forever be illuminated in Purple in the honor of Don James. Not solely because of his time as coach of the National Champion Washington Huskies, but because there were few men that did more to revitalize the great city of Seattle Washington.

RIP to the Dawgfather. I think those 80s and 90s Husky teams really set the tone for what football fans in this region love about our teams. We want to see dominant defenses that will hit opponents in the mouth and we back them up by being the most rabid fans in the nation. Pete and DJ are very different coaches but their teams similarly resonate with the fans.
