I wanted to trade Wilson to the Jets and pick up Mahomes with the draft picks.

There was no way I expected Wilson to sign another contract to play for the Seahawks, and frankly - not sure Mahomes would have been near as successful without an offensive guru like he has had so far at the Chiefs. He would have been nowhere near as effective here with no OL (see a SB he had to keep running for his life in...)

It probably would have ended badly, with Wilson thriving elsewhere and us doing ok but constantly looking at Wilson succeeding elsewhere wondering what could have been.

Likely a disaster. Wilson won a lot of games for us since that signing.
