Who's your favorite "no name" Seahawk of all time?

Marquis Weeks... wow, that's a blast from the past. His family sat right next to me for the 2006 season.. very cool people.
Happy to say that those same seats have seen Branton and Beverly Sherman and recently momma Lynch, movin on up!!

Zybot's link reminded me of another guy I'd like to nominate...Carlester Crumpler. Best name ever given a child by his parents. And they got it so wrong with his brother. Man I loved those '97-98 teams, they were so close to being great, but couldn't get out of their own way.

My Dad worked as a confidential intermediary with adopted kids/ adults trying to meet their birth parents, Carlester was one of them, so i'm not sure who the awesomeness of Carlester and the idiocy of Alge came from....

How did it take so long to name Dr. Dan (Doornink?) And Marquand Manuel, a big part of the 2005 SBXL run, and a current coach with the team (at last check).

Don Dufek. Not exactly a "no-name", but probably not remembered today.

He was very cool to me at a youth football camp when I was a kid. He took the time to interact, pass the ball around with me and be encouraging. So, that's the deal. I imagine that experience has something to do with my lifelong passion for the Hawks.

#25 - an original Seahawk - played from 1976 to 1984, was Special Teams Captain 1981-82.
Look him up. The Dufek family has a storied athletic history that continues today.

My favorite Seahawks of all time who fit in to that category ...

Rufus Porter (IN-Tense eyes and chased QB's down like a bionic dog running after the mailman)
Paul Skansi (Largent got all the attention ... but Skansi was every bit as clutch on 3rd down. Great hands)
Daryl Turner "the Afterburner" (36% of his catches went for TD's -- an NFL record that still stands to this day.)

Oh, and defensive end Randy Edwards from Alabama. He was only here for 2-3 years but played some
pretty good ball for the Seahawks.
I mention his college because he was selected by Bear Bryant's widow to be a pall bearer for Bear.
Quite an honor.

I was a huge Koren Robinson fan but the guy never became the star I had hoped he would be.

I was a bug Anthony Simmons fan to. I think there is something about elite athletes that I hope they can meet their potential.

Ken Hamlin after he knocked out Donte Stallworth became one of my favorites.

I have to say Hasselbeck is still one of my favorite all time Hawks. He took us to our first Super Bowl and won a ton of games for us. Paired with Holmgren they changed Seahawk football and Pete Carroll has ran with it and turnus into a juggernaut.

No shade but none of those guys are "no name". Hamlin maybe to the casual fan but he did make the pro bowl as a Cowboy.

I'll have to say Marquand Manuel. I shuddered at the possibilty of or coverage at SS being even worse than what Hamlin brought before he met with the sign placard, but what a surprise. Manuel made our entire secondary better.

I don't think he was a no name when he played but his name is never in the same conversation as the all time Seahawks greats. Keith Butler was one of my favorite players. He hit hard, always made a ton of tackles, and just played football the right way

I loved watching Dwayne Harper. That secondary was very underrated.

I used to REALLY like Niko Koutovides at MLB.

I started a thread about him back in the day, his wife googles his name regularly, saw the thread, contacted .NET.

They deleted it and I got a message from Les.

You've got to give more details than this....were you dissing Niko?

There was a news story about how he got into a fight at a casino? If my memory is right... I posted the article. Apparently the wife got really bent out of shape about it, saying the article was wrong it wasn't him, it was actually his brother. She threatened legal action against this board. :roll:

Les was just like sorry its not worth it, she's crazy, but it's not worth the hassle.
