Nice work by our FO. Need to free up cap space due to idiotic decisions.

You can't be mad at Sherman. The hawks cut him. They got rid of Sherman.

He signed with 49ers to payback Seattle. He does better with a chip on his shoulder. This is why he did it.

A lot of hawk fans hate him. I understand why.

Why are so many of you mad at Sherm? It's not like he forced his way out of Seattle. Pete and John are to blame, if anything. I love the Hawks, but Sherm should've been viewed as a current core piece. Top 3 CBs don't just grow on trees.

This is exactly what Pete and John deserve. Hope he does well. The fact that he went to the 49ers is not an accident, and it leads me to believe we didn't part with him on the best of terms.

Sherman’s not the same player anymore. I do not fear Sherman whatsoever. I look forward to Russell proving a point against him. I hope Russell targets him the whole game.

Agreed. It's been beaten to death, but bad drafts, trades, FA pickups, and extensions in the past few years are the root of all the pandemonium that has happened over the last few years. Sherm wasn't one of the bad extensions.

# 1 i would have hated him too had he not played with the Seahawks just like I couldn't stand loudmouths like Randy moss, Terrell Owens etc.

#2. The niner/hawk rivalry died when harbaugh and kaepernick left and they went into tank.

Can't fault him for this.
It's close to his home

He gave us great memories.
I'm sure he understands that We couldn't sign an aging corner.

I don't think this is about payback.

Can’t wait for Russell and Doug to torch him twice a year.

You are being funny, I hope.

First, our offense is a wet paper bag that doesn't "torch" anyone. Second, Sherm knows it like his own skin.

I doubt he’s ever a good corner again. Might make a good safety though. Better SF spending the money on him then us.

I was fine yesterday with his release. Today I’m depressed. I can take solace in the fact that the whiners don’t have the same Richard Sherman that we had in Seattle.

I'm not going to fault him for taking the deal. They cut him so he can sign where he wants to play.

In my GM second plan post I had us extending him with a deal that would have been about a total $13M including a $10M signing bonus over 4 years. I would have had second year and on qualifiers, but no matter now. He will help them be a contender. Not SB but playoffs likely.

And he goes to his college hometown. I get it.

Sherman knows very little of our new OC, and nothing about the new playbook.

I was so bummed to see him go. One of my all time favs. No hate for him for this move but it does make me want to vomit, like a lot...

Not the team I expected him to sign with, but they gave him a contract that showed the Hawks front office that he was still valued highly in the league. Plus, they do look like a team on the rise which is another benefit for Sherm. Add the fact that he gets to play his former team twice a year and you have a dangerous combo.

It's Pete's offense, so we'll likely be seeing much of the same thing this year. Maybe some of the playcalling will change but the overreliance on all-or-nothing plays and the obstinate conservativism will remain.

He knows plenty about him. Schotty was Rams OC for 3 seasons during Sherm's time.

He also knows the players cold.

And any offense we trot out is still Pete controlled, and he knows Pete cold, too.

AND he is motivated, and we know how he plays spurned.

Going to be interesting...

Goes both ways. We also know every strength and weakness he has.
