It appears the offense is doing well. They are protecting the ball with a balanced attack and Geno is managing the pocket and avoiding sacks. The only thing holding them back is penalties and sucking on 3rd down, which may have some correlation.
The Defense had a great game against the Giants, and they are stopping the run and forcing TOs. They're getting killed on 3rd down and this, combined with too many coverage errors, is letting opposing QBs (except for poor D Jones!) have their way.
I think the whole make-or-break question for this season will be answered by how well they can improve 3rd downs on both sides of the ball.
There is no reason the Offense should be at 29%(#31) and the defense at 52%(#30).
Get this cleaned up and I can see a playoff win or two. Or more?
