Did the NFL ever apologize to the Lions for the shouldermask call on TNF against the Packers?

That should've been the field judge's call. The line judge threw the flag from behind the play, but the field judge came running up and should've over-ruled it.

I don't think it matters who makes the call and from what angle. Live in real time that is going to get called a facemask every time.

This is evidence to me that part of th e problem is the gifs and super slow mo that gets dissected and nauseum.

I agree that it was a tough call to make, and I wasn't upset at the call. Wrong call, but it sure looked like facemask to me, even in the slo mo it looks like Richard got part of the mask

Overall, I was pretty happy with the officiating. They were consistent.
