Is it normal for the QB to do this? Does anyone have any idea if the receivers like it or resent it or think it's weird? I've never heard of a QB doing this.

Not exactly. The great thing is, he's been doing it since the day they named him the starter. He used to leave notes on their lockers or on their training tables and so on. It was fairly unusual to hear of him doing it.
