Too old is the general paradigm.
That is one of the dumbest arguments ever.
Look at how his DEF contained the 49ers and Ravens.

Maybe people remembered his last stint as HC and chose different directions.

He was especially unlucky with injuries in 2011. That year's record wasn't a true reflection of how good Spagnuolo or the Rams were...but it's in the books and it's tough to overcome. The main other issue was his "four pillars" philosophy. Personal beliefs are fine but you can't run a sports franchise on them.
