It doesn't bother me.

Because it's one more proof that Seattle is the superior team in the division.

San Fran is going to London next week. With respect, Seattle isn't travelling to another continent. They are helping the league out big time in their bid to push the game internationally. And I suspect they agreed to do it on the basis there were other perks in the schedule.

Honestly, that sounds plausible.

What FavoUrs does the NFL do for the rest of the teams that travel to London?

We just need to rise above the BS. These early starts for us, resulting in Ws, are character builders. In the end, SF will gain little not having to play through similar adversity. One reason they fold like Chinese porn stars when they come to Seattle.

SF agreed to London to gain goodwill for their Super Bowl bid. If they're getting scheduling help too, then that's a legit unfair advantage being given to them over the other teams that were also forced to fly to London.

Outside the league office the rumor is that if the Hawks make it to the Superbowl they will move the game to 10am.

You could argue that the schedule makers screwed the niners with a start to the season against a bunch of tough teams after they played the most games of any team in the NFC last season. It goes both ways, not to mention the niners travel more miles than most teams yet again.

Someone posted a list of teams' miles. Seahawks were on top of the list, and IIRC, it wasn't even close

You could argue it, but you'd fail. And besides, with parity scheduling, isn't the NFC champ supposed to have a tough schedule?

This is a joke post, right? SF had both Houston and Indy at home at 5:30PM or 1PM whereas the Seahawks got to play them away at 10AM back to back. Beyond that, Seattle played Carolina away at 10AM in 95 degree heat whereas SF got GB at home at 1PM.

Honestly the elite teams do get prime time starts, going to the NFCCG and Superbowl the past few years has the 49ers in that category. I can see the start times of our games later in the year being changed as well. Don't worry about the 49ers as they will be looking up at us all year.

ESPN had 9ers as having the most miles travelled this year. I think they play in London, which puts a big bump in miles but Seahawks not leading unless the story was wrong. They were second, if any of this matters.

Coach Knox says to play the hand you are dealt.

The list was from last year I believe

The mileage was for this season. Guess I will go find the article but the NFL is not going to modify how they handle 10:00 a.m games for West coast teams. They just do not care.

I meant the list I saw posted earlier here. Not doubting the one you saw

I saw the same chart, Doc. Niners have more miles than Seattle only because of the London trip. Without it, it's Seattle #1 as always.

And no, the NFL does not care. They don't care to such levels that they went out of their way to make a rule to limit the travel for East coast teams. You know, the teams who bus half of their trips if they wanted to. It's all about the East coast. Especially with someone like Roger "grew up a NY Giants fan" Goodell in charge.

Here is an article that shows who has the most miles this season

Earlier this afternoon, Matt Barrows tweeted out that the 49ers faced the most travel miles in 2013. He followed that up with a rundown of all 31 teams mileage totals. The 49ers rank first with 32,948 miles, with the San Diego Chargers second at 26,932 miles. It is no surprise that the top five teams are the furthest west in the NFL (SF, SD, OAK, SEA, AZ).

http://www.ninersnation.com/2013/7/29/4569682/49ers-schedule-travel-miles-2013

Now you can take it with a grain of salt, since I am using a 9ers forum as a reference. I was surprised to see that San Diego was second.

BTW - Just putting this here as a reference since I understand the OP's complaint. If there were more teams on the West Coast, I wouldn't mind not playing Eastern teams until the playoffs but the NFL still insists on allowing the fans to see every team once in a 4 yr period (well, except for Pittsburgh here).

Seattle is the only team that cries about ten am starts. Is that rain over there? No, it's the tears of whiny seahawk fans crying about every injustice the league places on them.

Actually it's just because the fanbase is more educated and can see the BS thats pulled, kinda like Merton Hanks an ex 49er not fining Bolden for a headbutt last week but fining Suh to make an example of him.

No slight there at all, had Boldin still been a Raven I think he is fined.

The 49ers had five 10 AM starts last season. No excuses. If we're a championship team, this will not be a problem.
