They're more along the lines of a pass catching TE that doesn't block too well. If we go that route then Vannett really has to pick it up at Y, which also should mean that you don't pay as much for your move TE.

If that's the case I'd almost say just try and snag Dickson and see if you can find a late round gem in the draft.

Yeah, but that was in Tampa. He's been with the Jets the last two seasons. He's matured. We don't need him to come in and be Jimmy Graham, just be serviceable as a pass catcher and block, which he's gotten better at.

And? Like I said, he doesn't need or have to be Jimmy Graham or some elite pass catcher. We had one of those or a while and told him to block, which he couldn't do. ASJ is a better blocker that just happens to catch the ball too. He's refined his skills which would be serviceable enough.

ASJ is obviously better than any TE we have on the roster.........cause we only have one, and he stinks.

But I feel like there's some local boy, UW projecting going on here. The reality is ASJ has only averaged 21 catches and 2 TD's over five years of a pretty damn mediocre career............and he's an average blocker at best.

For me it's really about his true Y TE skillset where he's alsoa great athlete.

The only thing that gives me pause is or was his immaturity. If he's past that then he's definitely on the upswing. He was taken very high in the draft for a reason.

I wouldn't call 2nd round "very high."

My point is I'm not getting all worked up, nor would I want to overpay for ASJ, when last year was his best year, and by TE standards it was still mediocre at best with only 5 TD's.

Sure he could help us, cause we have no TE's, but I'm not going crazy if we don't. I just think some people on here are giving him a Husky/local bump.

I'm not worried. If we whiff we will find a diamond in the rough, some high first round pick that failed in "some bad system" coming off a major double surgery that will be a smokin' bargain. :2thumbs:
