This season, we'll take it.

9-6 in 10 innings. Another Vogiebomb to right field. Nice to see the young guys come through.

Our bullpen just can't help itself. Why win in nine innings, when you have the world's shittiest bullpen, and can win in ten innings, instead. At least they didn't outright lose it like they did last night. That would just be too... Ordinary.

You're talking apples & pears. Two entirely different situations.

Yesterday, the Ms were behind a run, with EE at bat. Today, it was a tie game with Moore at bat. In the tie game scenario it is the proper call, especially with a sub .200 hitter. Yesterday it would have been the wrong decision.

More of a peach guy really.

The score makes no difference to the statistical chances of scoring in those scenarios.

It clearly wasn't the right decision given they went 0 for 3 with RISP the other day. They scored 3 runs the following night.

EE is batting .248.

Stats don't win games, numbers are just numbers, players win games. Encarnacion has been on a tear. He's hit a lot of homers lately. I don't have a problem with that call.

Numbers win games... this isn't the 1980s.. literally the wntirety of baseball uses numbers at every turn. EE has gone 0-6 since that at bat... Vogel 3-5...

It's fine not having an issue with the call. I wanted it played the other way more because Servais almost never does. It was damn near 51-49 to bunt.

However, lymon suggesting it was "wrong" is statistically inaccurate.

si, have you ever played baseball? If so, when you were at bat, was your bat a piece of paper with stats on it?

Pitchers are such pussies these days with pitch counts. Hell, I watched Nolan Ryan with the Angels pitch 100 MPH into the 9th inning regularly.

Through high school. Lettered.

But your attempt to old world this is irrelevant as managers do not swing bats and throw balls.

Statistics are not even a trend anymore. It's how things are done. If you want to disagree with hunting in that situation because "EE is hot" then fine. I think they shouldve bunted. Stats leaned towards my decision but not in a way that was overwhelming.

Suggesting that being hot somehow invalidates decades of statistical analysis is folly though.

They get paid shit tons of money. Managers limit pitch counts to protect their investment and maintain effectiveness.

It's not pitchers begging to get out of games.

Wow, bottom of 6. 4 runs scored, on our 3rd pitcher, one out, two on base.

And then there's 2019 M's pitchers, who are lucky to last an inning.

That Tim Malone that pitched last night was a good find.

Brennan has been a huge disappointment

Yeah and I'll say it again. Pussified pitchers. OMG...Don't let them get past 100 pitches...What a crock.

Yep, that was a refreshing start.
