With 12 days left until the opener suddenly I feel like there's a chance he might play in it

I have to assume at this point the surgeon did a great job, and whatever was done is secured to the point no additional damage can be done to that site or the repair.

I’d like to know what exactly was done, makes me wonder if they just removed a very small bone chip or something similar.
I can’t imagine letting him play if they did any kind of internal fixation ie screws pins etc.

Regardless, this is great news IMO

Pete said that the operation or the fix was very complicated. Is JSN right or left handed?? Anyone knows? And the injury was on which wrist?

Crazy thing even with a cast Bro probably still has better hands than every skill player not named Lockett and possibly Dissly and/or Bobo.

He catches one handed with either hand so I'm not sure..he has a cast on and it's
not hurting his catching ability.
He's playing in the opener..Hope he avoids tackles and runs ob for now.

Shoot, look how fast Tyler came back last year. It's incredible how fast athletes can bounce back these days. Brooks possibly in the opener? I would have never believed that when he got injured last year.

Yep, I was surprised how many people assumed the worst and/or went in to the "bust" crap. Then again........

"Put me in, coach!"
Gotta love this guy.

It was a slight crack in a small bone his left wrist. He's gonna be fine.
I don’t doubt what you’re saying about the “slight crack” but it is confusing to me.

Typically “slight crack” doesn’t require surgery. Makes me wonder if “they” are down playing the injury but then again it appears he’s going to be back soon and that contradicts a worse injury than reported.

Guess it’s all immaterial if he’s back he’s back and that has to be good news.

Years ago I fractured the scaphoid bone in my left wrist, it required 8 weeks in a cast but no surgery.
The bone structure of the wrist is a bit complicated in itself as there are actually 8 small bones that make up the wrist.
I’m hoping at some point they actually release or discuss the details of the injury and repair because I’m truly curious.

Gah. Ruptured a tendon in my left a few years ago that was never repaired because doctor said it's probably just a sprain, only to be told by a specialist 3 years later what actually happened. By then, too late to fix. But what scares me to death is the specialist's comment that because of the missing tendon, the small bones in the hand are now susceptible to collapsing. Pretty nerve-wracking whenever forced to use left hand for anything significant, even buttoning a shirt.

The surgery for a minor crack is most certainly being done to speed up the process. A screwed bone is a secured bone. So after that you just worry about the soft tissues healing in 2-4 weeks. With a cast and no fixation you have to wait 6-8 weeks for the bone to heal naturally.

I'm not predicting week 1 but I would be shocked if he's not playing by week 2.

They also have a flexible cast that can be placed before week 1.

Since we know he DID have a procedure I assume they put a screw in it. That's about the most they ever do for a crack other than immobilizing the joint. Any pain involved is probably due more to the procedure than the injury. With all that goes into being a professional athlete these days they tend heal rapidly.

This would make perfect sense IF NOT for Pete being quoted as saying the procedure was “very complicated”.

As I said up thread, it’s all confusing to me.
