Is this the game that propels us to the top?

This was the best possible outcome.

1 - We beat a division opponent.

2 - The offense showed what it is capable of (against an admittedly awful Rams secondary).

3 - We learned our defense is going to be huge problem all year long and we will need to account for that.

4 - With all the terrible decisions by the coaches and the awful play by the defense we still won.

So we get to both stay in the hunt and identify (hopefully address) a massive, yawning, glaring weakness that will keep us from being anything in the playoffs (or potentially making them) without fixing it.

It was an amazing win. But a horrific job by our DC to do everything he could to do it for us.

One game at a time. They are all equally important, there are 16 games in the season. The teams that are the most consistent wind up on the top

Depends how Jarran Reed plays when he comes back, could be a difference maker.

The secondary needs to get more takeaways though.

We are a work in progress. We are going to need a terrific pass rush to compensate for a weak secondary.

To tell you the truth, we are not as good as our record indicates.

We have Russ which makes us better than most teams not named KC.
We are not as talented as the Saints and Rams. But we have Russ.
We are not as experienced as many of the NFC contenders. But we have Russ.

I think we are set up to win shootouts. That’s a big thing in today’s NFL where defenses are handcuffed. As long as the Defense can force a couple turnovers I feel pretty good about our team.
