I'd be a little sad not to have the richest owner anymore.

Haven't the other owners always vetoed Ellison's attempts to buy teams? Or is that just the NBA?

Just another episode of the times and trials of Jed's Niners.

The saga continues.

York will screw this up, stay tuned...................

Some StL fans took this rumor to mean that Kroenke is buying the Niners. Oh my!

Silly people he would need to sell the Rams before buying a different team, unless the two men meaning Yorks and Kroenke do a straight swap with a new stadium part of the deal in St Louis.

I know you would weep Alice, and St Louis would regret it for years.

StL is pouring champagne right now Chris.

They are convinced they have trapped Kroenke into no choices except them.

eta: Kroenke buying another team, be it the Niners or the Broncos or whomever is what the StL fans want. They want him to sell the team to a StL owner and he buys a diff team. Hence why they like the Niners as an option.

Gonna be a bit of time before we know what is actually happening.

If the Rams are sold, are they going to still get a new stadium? I effing hate everything about that dump downtown, I thought the Kiel Center (or whatever it was called) was nicer. Go Steamers!

The entire piece is based on speculation that a guy who tried to buy an NBA team wants to own a sports team. And can afford the huge pricetag. And is local.

Absolutely no tangible facts other than that.

LOL I am just thinking of the history, 49ers and Rams swap owners, Rivalry, what Rivalry, they are paying each others players.

Yorks get a new Stadium in St Louis built, Kroenke gets a expensive new Stadium in San Francisco, both get to be hated by each both franchises, both will still be bad.

Must Watch TV :)

Didn't John Clayton last night, speculate that Kroenke and Sparos may swap ownership of teams to allow St Louis more time to keep the Rams?

Would not be the first time the Rams were swapped.

In 1972 Chicago industrialist Robert Irsay purchased the Rams for $19 million and then traded the franchise to Carroll Rosenbloom for his Baltimore Colts and cash. The Rams remained solid contenders in the 1970s, winning seven straight NFC West championships between 1973 and 1979. Though they clearly were the class of the NFC in the 1970s along with the Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings, they lost the first 4 conference championship games they played in that decade, losing twice each to Minnesota (1974, 1976) and Dallas (1975, 1978).

Irsay, no wonder there is a Taint about the Rams.

Haha, I was going to joke that the Niners should hope York doesn't sell to the modern equivalent of Robert Booze Irsay.
