It is fishy why they haven't extended Clark yet. They know something behind the scenes, could be an injury he is playing with, or an off-the field thing maybe.

Danielle Hunter set the market for him a little while back. You give Clark the same deal, and it's done. Yet nothing.

Good news is Seattle will have a lot of Cap Space next-offseason, so they can buy some edge rushers if need be.

Clark deserves a new contract but imo at least he hasn't earned a max contract at his position no way . He needs to really excel this year . Green looks like the steal of the draft at DE/DT he is going to be the next great pass rusher in Seattle. KJ just turned 29 in july and he's an underrated LB .

Agreed, not even close. Frank needs to bring it, every game, this season. He gets too quiet in games for too long.

This. Let’s see when the sacks come. In critical situations or when it doesn’t matter. His ability to get pressure is lacking. I am not ga-ga over FC. let’s see what happens before we wheel out a truck of cash.

#1 Earl Thomas (heartbeat of the defense)
#2 Frank Clark (because he’s our only proven pass rusher)
#3 Justin Coleman (one of the best nickel corners in NFL)
#4 K.J. Wright
#5 Tyler Lockett

I think those are the Top 5, then you have a stack of unproven guys who could prove their worth this season, i.e. Quinton Jefferson.

What they should do is go crazy and trade Earl and Frank to the Raiders for Mack. Then we sit back and enjoy another super bowl.

And sign Coleman and Lockett to fair deals

How Mack would fit into the defense would be an interesting question. He’s a LEO for us, but what about on base downs? Defense might have to be altered to accommodate his skill set.

Also, former Raiders executive Michael Lombardi says Mack wants $22 million APY (with most of that guaranteed, which is the sticking point for the Raiders). If you’re paying Mack that much, not sure you could afford to re-sign those other players.

The biggest stumbling block is that both Earl and Mack are problem holdouts. Raiders would have to agree to a long-term extension with Earl Thomas, and what Thomas wants may not be in proportion with his market value or what Gruden is willing to spend on an aging safety. And the Seahawks would have to reach terms with Mack’s astronomical contract demands. Raiders would also probably need a long-term deal for Clark.

It doesn’t make a lot of sense when you think about it. Not sure why people think clomping these holdouts together makes resolving their issues any easier.
