Explain Tiebreakers to NBC Please

Currently Seattle wins the 3-way tie with Packers/Lions. Next week that won’t be the case as Packers/Lions play each other which should break the tie

The way the guy tried to explain it he was saying that right now Seattle has the better conference record but that Green Bay winning in the conference would change that tie breaker. I’m reality the 2-way tiebreaker is just different than the 3-way tiebreaker. Sad thing is people take this stuff as gospel.

That's not how it works.

When 3 or more teams are tied for a wildcard, step 1 is to apply breakers to any teams in the same division until you are down to 1 team in each division.

Then the "division winners" go against each other for the wildcard.

Detroit beats GB, then SEA beats DET
