The refs didn't get it wrong, Wags didn't use his teammates to elevate which is what the rule says you can't do.

And you know this how?

Yup... And that three points would have made zero difference in the outcome of the game. Because there's no way they're scoring a TD the way the Seahawks D looked last night.

The 15 yard penalty to place them at the 14 with a new set of downs could have made a difference though.

Because they were so efficient at moving the ball? Either way, they weren't getting it done.

NFL Rulebook:

Penalty: Loss of 15 yards from the succeeding spot or whatever spot the Referee, after consulting with the crew, deems equitable. If the foul is by the defense, it is also an automatic first down for (among other infractions):

Placing a hand or hands on a teammate or opponent to gain additional height to block or attempt to block an opponent's kick or apparent kick, or in an attempt to jump through a gap to block an opponent's kick or apparent kick

If you watch the video:

you can see he doesn't increase his elevation at all when his hands are touching his teammates shoulders. That is allowed and completely legal.

It’s been retroactively ruled that it should have been a penalty.

I wonder if they also retroactively ruled that Moore should have had a TD instead of an incomplete pass? That call was seven points lost by the Hawks.

^^^^ :ditto: there was no penalty, the reason the natl media keeps dwelling on it is because there is a natl delusionial belief that the Seahawks always get the controversial call. It's what happen when you are a winner.

Enjoy it.

This is what irks me. The unnecessary digs that just create hate towards a team.
2. Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner, who wasn't flagged during Thursday's game against Minnesota Vikings despite his illegal field-goal block in the second half, was fined $10,026 for a facemask in the first quarter of the game that also wasn't penalized, Pelissero reported.

That entire incident had zero to do with fines. Yet they felt the need to remind any reader in a distinct description.

It was a big play that the refs got wrong, had the tables been turned I guarantee we'd be going crazy. Well take the break and move on.

Disagree. Seahawks fans are well versed in getting bad calls against us. Testaverde TD, SB XL. It’s in our DNA to expect terrible calls.

So if it happened to us, we would have cried out initially and then moved on especially in a game we were getting our butts kicked and didn’t deserve.

Other fan bases seem to have a sense of entitlement about bad calls. Especially when facing the Seahawks. I mean we are consistently one of the most penalized teams in the league. How people can complain about us getting favors from refs is beyond me.

Every fan base has a large contingent of emotionally miswired individuals with a "they're out to get us" complex, this one included. This ranges from fairly innocuous disagreement with calls (or non-calls) and extends to the other end of the spectrum to people who think refs are making calls to "keep the game close" or just outright determine the outcome of the game.

Humans aren't always good at being rational, and how rational they generally are depends on the individual.
