I'd love to bring in a starter-quality corner to compete with Shaquill in the event that he doesn't improve. I think he was personally my biggest disappointment last year, outside of Russell.

That is exactly the kind of ridiculous hate from you I'm talking about. Just plain way off base from a "Seahawks fan"!!

That is pretty expensive. Maybe the Ravens see their guy playing a starting L or R position and not being a pre NCB.
Or, given the pass-happy nature of much of the league, they consider him a 3rd starting CB. Plus, the new breed of OCs are getting good at isolating CBs with pre-snap motion where they exploit the differing levels of competence in some OCB vs the slot CBs. That might be a trend.

Great analysis.

Will see if it's a trend, but if it is, I think we've now got our explanation for it. :2thumbs:

Disappointed in Russ? Shocker
He had a pretty damn good year
That's ok, I respect the opinion of a HOF QB a lot more, especially Kurt Warner.

But back on topic, I really hope they can keep Coleman, he's about as solid as it gets in the slot.

It's something I'm paying attention to this off season. The Seahawks have roughly two and a half million in 2019 (March 13) cap costs tied up in four corner backs. Two starters and two challengers. That's a bargain. It leaves plenty of room for an accomplished veteran this year and next. Coleman was considered their third corner in addition to their 1st choice as a nickle corner in 2018. I'd like to see another quick prospect or two added to the training camp roster that can move well thru traffic.

If it were me, I'd switch Tre Flowers to LCB and Griffin to RCB. See how well it turns out, if its not working, then make adjustments from there.

If Coleman is too expensive I wouldn't be surprised if the Hawks tried to move Griff to slot CB and find another outside guy. Shaq seems like a better fit at slot CB.

I would not switch a guy still learning a position, better to let Griff get better acclimated to the LS, there is a difference and he was more a RCB before being switched.

Glad to see Akeem King resigned and staying put for his continuing development.

King will come into camp competing for Seattle’s starting job at nickel, assuming the Seahawks don’t re-sign Justin Coleman. King provides great depth for Tre Flowers and Shaquill Griffin on the outside as well, and will once again be a look to be stalwart on the special teams. First a defensive end franchised and now pass coverage addressed. This is shaping up to be an eventful week and weekend.
