Decisions like this will play a big role for the Seahawks in the next three years. The team will lose some starters in preparation for it this upcoming off-season (as the 9ers did; the 9ers are a year ahead of the Hawks in this cap stuff), and then it will really start to hit in the next two years after that.

It's why it's really that the Hawks win the Super Bowl this year or next year, because they're about to lose a lot of their competitive advantage. Same story with the 9ers last year, which is why it stung so much that they came up a few yards short.
What does this have to do with the original topic? We Seahawk fans follow our team. Most of us understand what is going on.
It's because he has to make himself feel better because of the downhill trend that his beloved team is currently in. It's a condition that is running rampant in the ninnies nation right now.

While it's true that teams with a lot of talent have to face difficult cap decisions, there is a big difference between the Hawks and Niners.

The Niners built a loaded roster by sucking for a decade and loading up on high draft picks. And yes, now that talent drain is starting to hit them, they may well sink because as good of a coach as Harbaugh is, he didn't have to build jack there.

The Seahawks were built from scratch in about 3 years by consistently hitting on lower draft picks.

If in 3 years you can build a team because you hit on Baldwins, KJ Wrights, Shermans, Chancellors, Browners, fleece the Bills for Lynch, and the list goes on and on, then why is it a given that you cannot replace departing players with new talent?

Clearly it isn't easy to do that and stay up for a large window. But is it as difficult as, say, building the team from nothing to SB in a few years?

This thread has drifted a bit off the original topic.

So ..... since that has already happened, it's worth noting that only a fraction of fans are consciously appreciative of the influence of team cultural and changes in team cultural.

The recent and rapid cultural change within the Seahawk organization was a well documented success. Unfortunately, the notion of cultural change is an obscurity for many fans outside of the Seahawk experience. For many, attempts produce only voids in comprehension.

I prefer to sit back and watch the show. Someday .... when they are really ready .... it will hit them. Only then .... after comprehension has arrived ....can a discussion commence.
