I don't have the exact numbers but as stated by Danny Kelly on Stampede Blue podcast the Hawks have been outscored like 65-10 in the 1st half but come the 2nd half they flipped those numbers around to 60's-10 in their favor. AM starts definitely affect our team!

if we could find a way to do whatever it is we do at halftime to change things around and get that done earlier in the game that would be fantyaaaastyiiiick. There must be some way to adapt on the fly. Half time is 15 minutes long.

I think Pete should make everyone drink 3 shots of espresso right at 8am. there is no doubt we always start slow in these games we have to change that trend.

our pass rush & defense is going to be impossible to come back on this year playing with a lead. we just have to get in front.

Good thing you don't win the game in the first half.

It is a big thumbs up to our coaching staff on how well they make adjustments. Of course RW's will to win also has a lot to due with it. The NFL needs to make the playing field a bit leveler though for these west coast teams. Doubt it will happen as the networks probable weigh in on that quite a bit as the biggest markets are obviously on the east coast.

Two games is an incredibly small and essentially meaningless sample size, IMO.

From this random noise I'm guessing a some fans conclude the team hasn't totally "woken up" from the early start until the second half of these games.

If this random noise were flipped in reverse, some fans could just as easily conveniently conclude that the Hawks are able to "start strong" but tire out and can't "finish strong" because of the early starts.

It's quite possible the Hawks are atypically poor performers on the road in early starts (and of course just as possible they're not; it's not an argument I have any interest in touching either way :) ), but I wouldn't start parsing out halves and quarters for all of two games.

Perhaps we could just move halftime to the beginning of the game? Or, or perhaps there is another way to warp the spact/time continuem in order to trick our players' body clocks into thinking it's really later than it is?

Work productivity ebbs and flows in all walks of life due to employees' internal body clocks, but is far more noticeable in front of a few hundred thousand people to a few million people over the course of a 3 hour window when seconds mean more than minutes or hours to the bottom line.

The visiting team should dictate what time the game begins. Right.

The best way to eliminate these early "unfair" games is to move the team east two or three time zones.

those stats don't show a huge difference from playing 10 AM compared to playing later on the day.
The only team to have a huge drop off from 10 am starts was Frisco.

Fixed that. Denver is not a West Coast team, they are out of Pacific time zone..

The goal is to win the game, but wins don't work well as an analytical tool. What was Seattle's SOS in those two sets of data? What was the yardage breakdown? How did the defenses play, etc? Kelly's stats make it look like 10am doesn't make a difference. We've watched the games. We know better.

Well they did it for east cost teams in making the rule that east coast teams don't have to travel to the west coast more than twice a season. Why? Who knows but the argument for it is that it was unfair to east coast teams yet somehow making west coast teams travel even more (when they already travel three times as much) apparently is fair.

The TV schedule is an excuse and should not be. They have multiple east coast teams in east coast match ups that are moved to play at 1:00 instead of the normal 10:00. If they are able to do it for east coast teams then switching starting times for west coast teams shouldn't be a problem. Not to mention they have moved the Niners our of those early starts for two years strait and Denver only has 2 early starts this year also. Coincidence? I think not.

At very least make the rule that west coast teams don't have to play more than 2 10:00am starts a year. It is complete bullshit that favored teams don't have to while the rest of us do.
