Exactly right. This is playoff seeding order. Division winners are seeded higher than wildcard teams. It is possible to be the number two team in a conference and be a wildcard team making you a number 5 seed

This is why winning your division is the first order of business

Not true, Falcons leas their division making them no lower than 4th seed. Cowboys are behind the Eagles so would currently be a wildcard so they can’t seed higher than 5th.
