nah, I randomly made it up to tease Russ, may be I should have used "Rose" instead of Wilma. I found some of Wilson's behave or strategies were more like petty little girl. Flintstones' Wilma was strong but level-headed person, I quite like her, the petty little girl that lives in Wilson' mind would be quite the opposite of Flintstone Wilma.

Gotta say, I speed-watched some of the Seahawks 2013 games on YT and the 2012 Patriots game, and Wilson was remarkable in 2012-2013, with his off-script ball, but it was also clear how much Lynch's running affected defenses and supported Russell's passing. Also clear how amazing that LOB defense was. Also what popped was the number of key special teams plays Hawks made that helped get the W. Tate with Punt returns, Kearse even busted a 45 yard kick return.

The 2022 Russell looks a full step slower than the 2012-2013 Russell. Plus no Marshawn Lynch factor. So it's no wonder Payton is investing in the run game

For nothing else 2022 showcased that Letting-Russ-Cook won't work. He's been throwing floaters for a while now.
His arm is going more as the legs are..I think he's washed
Payton is exposing him even more as Peteball relied on him
being able to run around and I just don't see it working out.

Wilson is in a very competitive division and the AFC is going to be stacked once more or it seems. Especially if Rodgers migrates to the Jets.

But I can see Wilson doing better in 2023 than 2022. Play action to set up his deep shots is his best hope of putting up big numbers.

Any odds on what week # Wilson will be benched in favor of Jarrett Stidham? My unscientific guess is that Stidham will be starting by Week #6, either due to Wilson injury or ineffectiveness. I don't think Wilson can run the full-fledged NFL offense Payton will want, and with Wilson's off-script magic greatly diminished, Stidham could be the better option for Payton.

P.S. Wilson's injury will be a sprained middle finger, hyperextended from repeatedly flipping off Payton and/or Saints OC Carmichael each time they tell him how they want a certain play run.

RW3 is going to be a handoff specialist and check-down Charlie. He will have to do that as he doesn't have the duo of Lockett/DK to bail him out on 3rd down desperation heaves. RW3 is going right back to where he doesn't want to be doing what he doesn't want to do, and I can't imagine him making it more than 6 weeks in that role.

The Broncos must also face the Browns and Texans along with Washington. So overall I see 4-5 games that they should win. So SP has to find a way to win 4-5 more games to have the Broncos finish above .500.

Broncos are having a bit of bad injury luck so far. There was a report floating around at the combine that RB1 Javonte Williams could miss significant parts of next year, and now their deep threat WR KJ Hamler just tore his pec and will miss at least the preseason.

Samaje Perine is a great budget acquisition as a player who was really good last season in a small role. Only 4.1 YPC but 3.1 of that came after contact. Not a big play threat but he keeps his balance through contact very well, didn't have a single fumble, and has the size and hands to excel as a third down back.

Last year wasn't as much of a fluke as you might think. It will be interesting to see if Payton figures out Russ' weaknesses and devises a successful plan to deal with them, in time for Russ to have an "MVPish" season. I kinda doubt it, but we'll see.

So far Payton appears to be trying to directly implement what worked in Seattle. Heavy usage of the running game with play action opening up a handful of deep shots for Russ per game. They're still a little short on personnel and are going to have to add RB and WR in the draft, preferably multiple.

Russ looked good in Seattle in an offense built to take the pressure off him, and then was a catastrophe in Denver in an offense constructed to lean on him as a high volume passer. So far, everything Payton has done on offense is about minimizing the pressure on Russ and getting back to what was working in Seattle. If Russ does look better next year as a result, then that isn't a fluke but just further confirmation of what most of us have already figured out. Russ just doesn't have the football IQ or vision for a high volume efficient passing offense.

I wonder if Denver can get in on the Derrick Henry convo. With Murray and Gordon gone, they're going to need a bellcow.

I expect they may wait and see how the draft unfolds, and then there will probably still be a pretty good list of veteran RBs floating around unsigned if they need one.
