This is from Curtis Crabtree of FOX 13 Seattle. Thoughts?

Who didn’t stand out?

LB Boye Mafe – Continuing a pretty invisible training camp, Mafe didn’t have much impact on Saturday night’s game as he was one of few starters to play the entirety of the first half. Mafe assisted on just one tackle and had a pass defended. However, the pass he broke up came after he got blown back after the ball and then crossed the field to chase Stick outside the pocket. He’s been routinely beat in 1-on-1 pass rushing drills in camp practices as well.

QB P.J. Walker – The same caveats of a shaky offensive line for Howell carry over for Walker’s performance as well, but he didn’t do much of note in his time under center. Walker finished with just 61 yards on 4-of-10 passing and was sacked once.

S Marquise Blair – One of the knocks on Blair during his first stint in Seattle was his propensity for mental mistakes. It appeared he made another on one on the Chargers’ biggest plays of the night. Simi Fehoko caught a pass from Duggan up the right seam that saw safety Ty Okada barking at Blair after the play. It seemed as though Blair was supposed to be in the deep middle of the field instead of in the deep half. The play went for 29 yards and could have generated more if Fehoko could have kept his feet.

I agree with both Walker and Blair as being players that didn't stand out, but thought Mafe was close a few times to a sack and he did get several pressures on the opposing QB, so while not special he was showing up, maybe not standing out though.

Blair sure did expose Okada on that play. Walker is for sure a bombs away type QB.

I never cared for Blair.. He has a very short time to show something
and I just don't think he's going to..
Maybe the Titans would be a better fit?

I hate to say it, but my man AJ Barner didn't really show anything on Saturday. I'm hoping that changes. I don't think he'll get cut, but Brady Russell might make that decision really hard for the staff if he continues to play like he did.

IMO, dude has no cred. Check out the highlight at ~2:32 in the vid below...Mafe makes an amazing cross field play to disrupt the throw.

I've said a few other times, PJ started rough but played really well once settled.

I didn’t see much good from Blair or Walker either. I have to admit that Mafe must not have stood out because I don’t even recall noticing him out there.

It felt like Mafe hit the wall hard at around the 2/3rds point of last season and was mostly invisible down the stretch. I was hopeful that having the off-season to recharge would allow him to get back into "rising stars" territory. We really need him.

Not saying I'm putting a ton of stock in this report, but it would be nicer to hear that he was lighting it up.

Brady played with a sense of confidence and urgency. Barner underwhelmed looking like a spectator at times. Both surprised me in opposite ways. But, a couple more pre-season games yet to come.

Call me a homer but I was hoping Jack Westover would get a fair shake. I know we used a 4th on Barner but nothing really invested in Brown, Mabry, or Russell so keeping my fingers crossed. Go Dawgs!

I'm sure Barner will get up to speed. It was his very first NFL game.

I thought Mike Morris looked poor on the edge. I was not impressed by Knight but it’s early. Curtis looked bad on OL.

Jason frigging Meyer.
Misses an extra point. This guy gives me butterflies just like Walsh did when he lines up for a kick.

I rewatched the condensed replay with my wife since she was out of town when it was live. Walker had at least three throws that were nearly picked off, all on that same route to the right sideline. Not sure if it's a scheme issue or a player issue but he's got to stop or it'll be a pick 6 at some point. (Assuming he gets playing time.)

I would have to go with Kenny McIntosh. I know he looked terrific running the ball. However, when you're the third RB, you must be able to pass-protect and McIntosh is a disaster as a blocker. He has trouble recognizing where the pressure is coming from and when he does step up to block he gets trucked. In pass protection, he's nothing more than a glorified speed bump. George Holani is a good runner (McIntosh is better), a good receiver (again McIntosh is probably better) and a much better blocker. I think Holani is the third running back and McIntosh makes the team only if they keep four RBs. Unfortunately, I also think McIntosh is too good a back to last long on the practice squad so he'll probably be carrying the ball for someone other than the Seahawks this year.

Mafe or the whole defense hit a wall around the 2/3rd point? It was almost like something happened and our guys were either disinterested or other teams adjusted but we didn't.

Blair did look slow and a little out of position, imo. One of the few times someone seemed in the wrong spot.

Walker actually made 2 damn good throws on 3rd and long. I was like......damn.

I was gonna say that a camp-body third-string QB converting third-and-15 and third-and-17 seems like "standing out" to me.

Walker gets playing time in preseason games to reduce the risk of injury to the Seahawks' real quarterbacks. We shouldn't expect much at all from a guy who is clearly there as a "camp body" and who might make the practice squad.
