After a loss it's ALWAYS an emotional bummer. It's a long season and many things are going to happen some good and some bad. Are the Hawks as good as their record? Are the Hawks as good as their last game? None of it really matters because it's all a progression of momentum. the only thing that really matters is the Hawks make the playoffs with the highest seat possible, hopefully with a home field advantage. The goal is to be peaking at the end of the season. once they get in ANYTHING can happen!

So Its hard after a loss I get that but if you keep things into perspective its not so bad. In fact a loss really isnt a bad thing it refocuses the team and gives them motivation to be better. at some point in this season this team will go on a roll something will trigger it right now we dont know what that is but it's going to happen..

Exactly. We make that field goal in the second half and this game might have gone completely differently. Losses happen, this one snowballed away.

I hear what you are saying but winning every game is essential. Just making the playoffs isn't good enough. Anything can't just happen. Breaking in as a wildcard and winning 3 road games is monumentally more difficult than playing 2 home games and making the superbowl. Thankfully for the Patriots they have been playing in the AFC Least the last 20 years.

This is how it is:

Hawks would have been competitive today without the turnovers. Russ struggles in rain and the only receiver that's consistent in rain is Lockett. Most teams can't give 14 easy points away and expect to win.

Ok maybe all of that is true... does it really matter in the scheme of things ? They make some adjustments and move on... no big deal...The world isn't coming to an end No team ALWAYS plays to its capability no matter how good they are...

I've learned there's a lot of sour, salty posters on here after a loss, and refuse to accept that the other team was actually better. Rather than discussing football, they'd like to attack and get defensive.

I learned the Seahawks are an above average team. Baltimore is a good team, and played a great game today. They played better than Seattle.

This game is very similar to the Saints game.

They handed a good team two touchdowns, can't win that way. They are a good team who has to play VERY well to win consistently. Saints and Ravens played better, wanted it more and are both really good teams. You can't hand points to a good team, period.
Will be nice to get back in the win column on Sunday. This team is going to be fired up, exactly like they were when the went out smoked the Cards after a loss.

Anything can happen, but now probably what will happen is we won't win the NFC West and we'll be fighting for a WC spot again.

Which is fine I guess, but it PROBABLY will mean a 1st round playoff loss once we have to go on the road, which we've shown we're not good at in the playoffs.

So have all the positive thoughts you'd like, but this league is built on probabilities, not baseless optimism........and right now we're two games behind the Niners, who look to be the real deal, AND the Rams also look to be back.

So idk man, my expectations were higher than just squeaking into a WC spot this year. So sorry if I'm not on board with your optimism train.

Gonna' need to win these next two to get that true confidence back. Especially before some much tougher games roll in. It feels like the team is good, but still a year away from being a true contender. But, a lot can happen in the next 2 plus months.

Yep, You can't overcome adversities if you never encounter them...….Though it does help if the Coaches & Players are able to adjust at game speed, and not getting locked into a inflexible game plan.
AND, LOSSES HAPPEN TO THE BEST OF THE BEST.

Im not necessarily on a optimism train...I just dont think its to the point in the season to where everybody needs to hang their heads because the Hawks got beat by a better team... I agree that at this point in the season your assessment looks like it could be a reality as you have seen it many times as I have read your post for years. But It's way too early to be assessing where the Hawks are going to be in the Division or the playoffs... To many things can happen... and although you have seen your assessment happen in previous years, you have also seen the Hawks look bad the first part of the season and then go on a roll and wipe everybody out...The Hawks have not even played the Niners this year... in fact the Hawks are 2-0 in their division... so I really don't see why there isnt cause for optimism... The Hawks are 5-2 and not even playing there best ball yet... This team is still growing and finding its Identity give them a break. They are 5-2 because they deserve to be 5-2 ....

No doubt. We all fan our own way. Nothing wrong with being optimistic, and there's nothing wrong with thinking they suck. All in how you look at it. Fan how you want, and don't worry what other people think about it. Calling people homers or whatever is pretty lame. Just because someone believes in the team, it doesn't mean they are some homer that doesn't realize that this team is a work in progress.
Go Hawks

Yeah, unless the other team gets shut out you’re not gonna win too many games with relying on field goals.
So guys, you're saying you can't win games with Field Goals ? SMH

I'm making a fair objective assessment of the Hawks after seven games, what are you guys doing other than making lazy homer platitudes like "hey anything can happen people!!"

After seven games, 5-2 is an awesome record, but in this division and in this conference we're headed directly towards where we were last year, which is fighting for a WC birth.

That's how it is.

First off dont call me a homer...

Secondly the anything can happen statement was actually a quote from Holmgren referring to the possibilities if a team can make the playoffs...It's a new season...

You seem to be the monday morning QB who wants to over analyze football... You dont really know whats going on in the Seahawk camp... You really dont understand why the coaches make the choices that they do because your not in the meetings your not in the loop... but yeah you can stand back and claim to know because you heard Carrolls press conference...In which he doesn't go into any amount of detail about anything ...So dont start pretending your a pro because you have 15 million posts on a Seahawk message board..Ya want to be a doubter that's fine... do it...but dont disrespect me because of my opinion...

The Hawks are 5-2
Carroll has made the playoffs every year but 2
Carroll has 2 SB appearances
There is plenty of room for optimism

Meh, I get called a homer almost every day. Don't care even a little bit. Nothing wrong with believing in your team. People you've never met, likely never will and who know nothing about you calling you names on the internet? So low on the importance scale.
That being said, I have not once expected a 2019 Super Bowl run, yet (next year they should be a true contender imo)
I do think they will make the playoffs and win a game. IF they stay healthy and continue to improve, they could make it to the NFC Championship, but I'm certainly not expecting that.

My bad, I thought we had our sights set higher than just making the playoffs.

Carry on.
