I guess they would just have to take out being on the war path, otherwise they get to keep their well known fight song. The problem is that they would have to get folks used to HTTB instead of HTTR.

This way, they keep the emblem and their colors. Sort of like the Nickel, or did the Buffalo Nickel go away? I live a sheltered life.

I don't see how this is so hard to do properly.

1. Find out all the local tribes that live/d near the Potomac Basin.

2. Find out what the word "warriors" is in each of their tribal languages.

3. Choose the best/catchiest/easiest to speak and spell of those words.

4. Re-brand with a logo that is a headdress from that tribe along with the word for "warrior" in the tribal language

5. Print $$$ as people buy your new jerseys with the new logo and name.

No one wants to walk around DC or Virginia saying, "Boy, I hope the 'hearts do something this year." COME ON, MAN.

I always felt Warriors was a respectful name. Could never see how it degraded the American Indian. Was stunned when Marquette was forced to change their once celebrated name.

Braves seems respectful to me, as well.
