So I'm walking through the airport in Vegas...

And on the way to my gate to fly back to Seattle, I walk by a random sports apparel store which catches my eye because of all the beautiful Seahawks gear on display near the front, with high visibility. I've NEVER seen us advertised that much in any sports apparel store outside of the northwest. Three jerseys on the wall, shirts right out front, in front of the 49ers at every opportunity, etc. It's beautiful. :D

Yep...I made a post about this several weeks ago. I was there in June and was amazed at all the Seahawks jerseys on the wall. I recall those were the only jerseys with that many multiple players. It was pretty cool to see

Nice! Didn't see that when I was down there in June. Been down to Lincoln City, Oregon (central Oregon coast) twice this summer and they have a "Just Sports" store outlet mall there. Full of random pro and college stuff. Keep telling the fella's down there to get more Hawks gear and it will sell. Each time I go down they have more, but nothing like the stores up here. Nice to see Vegas is warming up to the Hawks!

No sign of any of this down here in northern cali.....but then Redding is deep in Whiner territory after all (now that they're winning of course...otherwise they're usually Raiders fans). Still see all the usual gear in Walmart.....big market teams like Whiners, Cowboys, Stealers, Raiders, even some Giants crap.

I really feel left out not living up by Seattle anymore. I moved here back in late '06 and would really like to be up there in the midst of all this going on. It looks insane from what I can ascertain from this vantage point. (Vantage......that's a place I hadn't thought about in a while......:) ).

Yea, we must be getting more national push. I lived in Vegas, and you won't see too much Hawks gear in the airport, although in the bigger sports stores you'll see Hawks gear.

The biggest difference is going to a Walmart up here and seeing it stacked with Hawks gear....down there you'll still see AZ, Denver and Raiders gear.

Don't look now ... but I'd say that the Hawks are slowly becoming a fairly popular team outside of the Pacific Northwest. I was on vacation here about 3 weeks ago ... and on 2 separate occasions I saw people sporting Seahawks gear in South Dakota. How cool is that?

Beyond just being a good time, two particular players on opposite ends of the character spectrum are sort of raising awareness of the Seahawks nationally: Russel Wilson and Richard Sherman. Both are charismatic in their own way, both appeal to a certain type of consumer.. throw in Lynch whose playing style is charismatic (if you can call a style of play that) and its a huge boost Seahawk stuff moving in markets outside of Seattle.

Last week I went to my favorite Brazilian restaurant in Shibuya and when I stepped outside I noticed a new shop called "The QB/Lacrosse Shop" (yea..seriously..in English ..). Decided to stop in.. the left side of the stuff had NFL and NCAA football stuff on sale plus pads and equipment..the right side oddly enough sold lacrosse stuff. Anyway, there was quite a bit of Seahawk gear on sell including Wilson jerseys. Knowing I would be in Seattle and get stuff much cheaper in just a month..I went ahead and bought 3 mini helmets, a hat and T-shirt anyway because ..Seahawks.

When I'm out and about with one of my jersey's on I'm almost always stopped by someone who says they are a fan as well. Some of that is living next to a large AFB, but I've also ran into quite a few native Okies who say they like the Seahawks. It's very strange as most of my time here I can count on one hand the Seahawk fans I've met since moving to OKC.

You'd think OKC would hate everything Seattle

Why? Even after the much hated trade there was no hate towards Seattle. If anything it's the opposite.

I'd be quite puzzled if this were the case.
Must just be the online nuts I see on NBA forums then. You guys would know better since you're there on the ground
