Though both teams were two of the lowest in this category last year; SF: 60.8 and Sea:61.6. Although its been only 1 game: SF:77 snaps per game and Sea:65 snaps per game. SF is 6th and Sea is 18th. Maybe SF is trying to run more uptempo? I do remember Kaepernick talking about wanting to run plays faster. Just something to keep an eye on. (courtesy of Football Outsiders)

They will likely try anything to improve on the last game here. If speeding things up is the latest trend, Hairbag will give it a shot! And since Kap does what he is told... Instant press fodder.

I gotta say, I do hope we speed things up between plays. I don't really feel like we need to be running an Oregon style, but I liked the Holmgren/Hasselbeck style of get the play in and run it quickly tempo. I dislike a plodding offense.

What is really surprising about those play numbers from last year is that SF and Seattle were both very high ranked offenses. Usually better offense = more plays. That's probably as much a reason as any why Seattle and SF are so good, they shorten the game while still putting up elite scoring numbers.
