Rules Abou Uniforms Question

I know the NFL has a rule when teams can change uniforms teams. Let's say if the Seahawks decide they want to change their uniforms. When are they eligible?

Not sure about changes, but i think they have carte blanche on the pants, as they can change last minute.

Jerseys i think have to be submitted by July I think

Last I heard, teams had to wait 5 years to redesign uniforms. We still have a little longer to go, although I don't see a major uniform change coming at the 5 year mark. I think we'll be awhile before anything major happens.

Really doubt they make any changes for a long time. Even before the Superbowl apparently the new Seahawks jerseys were waaaaaaay outselling the old ones.

Personally, I think the old ones were a bit bland. The colours weren't vibrant enough - sort of how I feel about the Eagles jerseys.

Five year waiting period is correct. Which sucks for the Buccaneers.

Officially it's 5 years following a uniform change absent special exemption from the League Office. The uniform includes the tops, pants, and helmet design.

I believe the logic behind this is the encourage fans to buy the current jersey because they would be less likely to do so if the design changed too often.

I want to buy a jersey but not if they are going to change it in the next year or so like they do in soccer every year (while charging similar amounts) . If they were changing it, I want to wait till the new one comes.

They're just shy of the halfway mark. There will be at least 2 additional seasons in the current ones.

As others have said 5 years, so we got what..2 years left before they are elgible for a change. I really hope they don't though because since the change I've already bought 5 jerseys and I'm finally in a place where I don't feel like I need anymore jerseys. And I don't want to start all over again lol.

Correct. They were first worn in Wilson's rookie season, so we're in our third of five.

Currently that's what the bylaws say. The home team sends notice to the league before the season declaring their jersey selections for the year. The opposing team wears white or their "home colors" depending on the selection. Use of alternate jerseys have their own rules. 2 regular season games, unlimited in playoffs, not allowed in SB. The League office determines if an alternate jersey is in conflict with the home teams' selection.
