For myself...especially after having hope minnesota would close out the rally. The assumption is that we don't catch the cards. Decimate nfc east opponent. Destroy Arizona at home, then beat Carolina on the road as well. Voila, third superbowl in a row.

Actually if we get the #5 seed (likely IMHO), if we beat whatever crawls out of the NFCE (again likely IMHO), then I expect we'll face Carolina in the divisional round.

Why? Because whoever the 6th seed is (probably Minny) will have to go to the frozen tundra of Green Bay in round one, and Green Bay simply doesn't lose in that spot. That would leave Seattle as the lowest remaining seed.

It would also mean we meet the Cards in the NFC Championship game, and I'm OK with that.

If we get 5 seed:

- will play NFC East winner

- 2nd game would be against top seed, which will likely be Carolina. This presumes 6th seed loses to Green Bay (Minnesota ain't winning the division). If 6th seed beats GB, Seahawks would play AZ instead of Carolina. 6th seed would play Carolina.

- 3rd game would be against AZ/GB winner (or Carolina / 6th seed winner, if 6th seed were to beat GB)

Well, any other year I would agree with you. But losses to the bears and lions in Lambeau this year have changed my thought on this. I still think they win, but Im not as confident about it. (Lets not forget they were basically a crap-called, no-catch on dez bryant, away from losing in Lambeau during the playoffs last year. )

Do they have that rule in the NFL where divisional rivals can't play each other in the first round or am I thinking MLB?

There is no such rule in the NFL (you may be thinking MLB). In the old playoff system (where there was three divisions in each conference and two wildcards that played each other), there WAS such a role (i.e. no divisional rivals could face each other prior to the championship round), but that was discontinued in 2002.

That would be cool with me as well since that would still allow them to beat carolina and arizona in their stadiums on the way to the superbowl

I'd like to one-and-done the Panthers after the Wild Card round and then beat the Cardinals in the NFC Championship game.

What I'm hoping for:

Seeding:

1 - Panthers (with perfect 16-0 record)
2 - Cards
3 - Minn
4 - NFC Least (hopefully Washington)
5 - Seahawks
6 - GB

What happens:

Greenbay and Seattle win wildcard rounds
Seattle beats NFC East
Greenbay beats panthers (they are due for a loss)
Seattle beats AZ (I like the shorter flight, and indoor game)

NFC Championship

Seattle hosts Greenbay.

Despite not playing well right now, I think GB has a slightly better chance to make it to NFC Championship game than Minn via that route.

Beat green bay in Lambeau, beat Arizona in Arizona. Kill New England ala Denver in the Superbowl..

And a happy ending for every Hawk fan.

This weekend... a Seahawks win and a Tampa loss. Green Bay can lose too just because I don't like them.

That looks like a whole lot of winning right there. Imagine the wailing and gnashing of teeth from other NFC teams' fans if we end up getting a home playoff game.

I hope that we don't have to face Washington in the playoffs. That field scares the hell out of me.

Winning the Superbowl with the most difficult possible schedule to silence ny doubters. Something along the lines of GB > Panthers > Cards > one out of Patriots/Broncos/Bengals

Would be by far the best scenario in my eyes but winning the Superbowl any other way is fine too.

The Seahawks have a chance to avenge earlier losses this year in 5 of their last 6 games (6 of 6 if they play Green Bay in the Wild Card). I am excited to see that. We have a defense now that won't choke up fourth-quarter leads. And an offense (Rawls and Lynch and an OLine that's clicking) that will close wins out.

Woah there cap'n!

I understand (and wholeheartedly agree with) your motivation here, but under no circumstances do we want to try and play GB in Lambeau.

It is very cold there in the winter.

Just sayin... :stirthepot:
