2 of the big winners in Week 1 and the Cowboys always draw an audience. Easy choice for tv executives. If I wasn't a specific team fan and just wanted a big game it would be the game i'd choose.

Yep. I get the reasoning behind marketing and money. Personally - I'm not sure I would ever choose to watch a Cowboys game. 0 interest. Interesting. Are they targeting the viewers who aren't fans of specific teams? I guess that tracks.

Each teams market gets their game on one network. The other network will usually try to put the game that will get the most viewers in the other time slot in that market so they don’t go up against the local team. If the network that doesn’t have the local game in a market but does have the double header that week then they have to try to get viewers not interested in that local market team, which is difficult to say the least.
