Bobby Wagner is just guessing wrong a lot and is way out of position, KJ can't shed a block and Irvin disappears for long stretches. They all seem to be a liability in coverage too. We need these guys to turn it around and i mean quick.

Indeed, it seems that when backs get past the LOS, they go for at least six yards. Our LBs gotta get better. And on pass coverage, they're really struggling.

He made some sick stops. You guys are way too critical.

Is it at all possible that you aren't critical enough? He got caught in the wash on several of the big gashing running plays SEA gave up.

I mentioned in the live game forum, Wagner was a mess today. Constantly in the wrong hole and unable to recover, coupled with his already shaky pass defense.

His stats will show he had a great game, probably 10+ tackles and at least 1 sack, maybe another .5, but the stats lie, he needs to play better, and play better immediately.

Yeah i just keep seeing him (Wagner) shoot into a gap, ends up being the wrong gap and Earl makes the tackle 9 yards down field. Seems like he's not reading the play first, he's just trying to guess right and ends up taking himself totally out of the play.

I thought the tackles were getting man handled and the LB's weren't doing them any favors in cleaning up their messes. LB's missed opportunities sure, but it was ultimately on the T's imo.

I don't know whether it was just TB taking advantage of our D line rotation and running right at us when we had pass rush personnel on the field, but they were gashing the D line from what I saw.

Agree though that Malcolm has earned time on the field. Would be happy to see them rotate him in for KJ and Bruce. Kid's a baller.

11 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

That was Bobby Wagner today.

The real problem is with the D-Line.

That "run stopper" Red Bryant had zero tackles.

I was really surprised how bad KJ got blown up today. There were a couple times I was shaking my head about him getting blasted back like a rag doll. He is usually better than that.

kj is misused imo. he plays best at wagners positon (notice how well we played when he was injured when kj took his place and we had kj,bruce, malcom) wagner should not be used in coverage he is a liability.

The LBs clearly looked their best while Wagner was out. Malcom Smith needs to be on the field

To me it's a combination of poor gap assignment integrity, poor coverage, and not finishing tackles. As stated before, McDaniel had some nice stops on the line, but then he would throw the back 5 yards upfield. Saw a few times where Wagner had his hands on the back and let him out of his grasps. He and KJ also got burned a few times by the fullback out in the flat on third down. I don't think I saw Irvin make a tackle once on a back the whole game, but that might be because they never ran it to his side. Earl and Kam had to clean their mess up way too much. If you want to be considered a top NFL LB, you can't let that kind of crap happen.

We face Adrian Peterson in 2 weeks.

I'm frightened.

Eh.. We're playing the Vikings, not just Adrian Peterson. He had 182 yards against us last season and we still kicked their ass.

I think PC hit the nail on the head and will fix it. We seem to be trying too hard to strip or tackle the ball than to first make the stop and finish the tackle. I noticed a lot of initial hits then pulling at the ball while runner gains 3-5 more yards. It's great when we get the fumble but when it is not working we get gouged too much. Also agree w/ some of the missed assignment issues mostly in the first half but seemed better in the 2nd half.
