Is set to become a free agent this year... With his age, declined production etc. he is set for a low payday. If its low enough... would you want him on the team? I know he is old, but he seemed to be a good teammate and he could be a nice veteran presence during this game of will-lynch-retire-will-he-not-retire. Obviously the talent is not there anymore to the level it once was, but I think it would be a little better insurance policy should Lynch retire.

It would almost be worth it, just to make 9er fans watch him play in a Seahawks uni..... :49ersmall:

I can just see Marvin squirming at the thought of it..Seriously if we could sign him and Lynch returns that would be an awesome 2 headed monster rotation.

The stuff of nightmares right there.

In all seriousness tho, I think he'll be a Colt.

Absolutely love Frank and it would have been great if he could retire a 9er, but he's going to the Colts.

TBH Hawks fans should probably be rooting for him to go the Colts as well, as it could increases the chances of Gordon or Gurley falling to the Hawks at 31.

For this reason only. That would be delicious.

He'd be a great fit for Arizona. The perfect compliment to Ellington. Given Gore's age, he's only going to appeal to teams who expect to contend in 2015.

I think Gore makes sense for any of the NFC West teams not named Seattle. At the right price, the 49ers probably wouldn't mind having him back.

The 9ers went 8-8 last year. The Hawks went to the Super Bowl.

The old ghost has been laid, my man.

Hmm..that might be a decent move for the Colts if they don't just draft somebody.

They are trying.

To me I think its similar to Lynch in that I think he's worth more to the 49ers than to potential suitors...

...but Frank has pride. I'm not sure he's willing to accept a much smaller contract and a reduced role on the same team. I hope he does, but I could easily see him going to Indy to play in the essentially the same system under Pep, his college OC in Chud, and a team that's a contender.

Rumor is that deal is all but done at this point, although it's just a rumor.

Baalke and Gore have been talking this past week, per reports, although I'd be pretty surprised if he came back to the 9ers (for the reasons outlined by Marv).

He was badly underutilized by the 49ers last season. Hopefully that is enough to get him to move on to a team with a winning culture so he can end his career on a high note.
