I harp on this stuff a lot when it comes to evaluating players or a positional group.

No player or group of players in football exists in a vacuum. A football team is not a single entity - it is an ecosystem that fails when it's too unbalanced.

As soon as we got one thing working on offense, the other stuff became easier.

I don't believe in judging a pass game when the run game is shite or vice versa. I can't judge a quarterback well if he's under siege and can't rely on a running game to keep the offense on schedule. I can't judge an offense that has no support from its defense. Can't judge a defense that is put back on the field after 3 plays consistently.

It's a complementary sport.

Touchdown Charbonnet, by the way. We got one thing working and we broke open the rest. You start with small successes and they start proliferating in places that you would think are fairly independent from each other, but they are not. Anything but.
