He didn't fail in Seattle. He was hired away from Seattle to take a promotion to be the Defensive Coordinator for the, at the time, defending NFC champs.

I would say he failed in Seattle. The defense, when Desai was here in 2022, wasn't any good. Maybe he didn't have the DC title, but he was assistant HC and had a big hand in scheming the defense. He wasn't solely responsible, but he was a big part of it.
