Any ideas about how JS can turn 7 picks in to 9? I can only see a couple of scenarios in play here.

First step, obviously, is to trade out of #16 and try to get a 2d from somebody. That takes you down into the 20's at least and maybe out of the first round, but it sets them up to wheel and deal around on Day 2 and 3. Wouldn't surprise me if they get to 10 picks overall, but if they make the pick at #16 it gets a lot more difficult.

I don't know if we can to 10 without trading someone. I do think 9 is reasonable, it looks like Philly would be the likely candidate for trading back and getting a second round pick. I also think Denver is the team to target in the fifth, trading one our fourths and a sixth for two fifths and a later sixth. That's only if Denver will even talk to us after the Wilson debacle.

Not picking til 81 again after that 1st really is disheartening. Hopefully they find the partners and have some options, hard to really say what will be there for them.

I just hope if they do get a shot at trading back, that it is to add a 2nd and not just a 3rd. I'd then much rather see them just just stand pat and land a blue chip / bap where they're at.

It depends on how far somebody wants to come up. I agree, it feels like a lot of these first round trade downs result in thirds in general and not the assumed seconds. I think I’d just prefer to take a stud at #16 instead of the basket-of-players approach.

Depends on whats available but agree that is most likely, a lot of Mocks have us getting Fautanu and deploying him at Guard.
The point I was jokingly making was previous picks at a particular position does not indication how good future picks at that position will be. Just because our last pick at 16 was a bad and and our last pick at 17 was elected to the HOF does not mean Fautanu (or whoever) will be a bust if we select him and 16 and a star if we get him at 17.

I’d be happy with 7, if he can trade to get a 2 and still stay in round 1. Who cares about having 4 picks in round 5 and 6? Especially this year, where the talent drops off after 3/4 round.
