Doug gunning for a gig in Indy? FWIW I can see him in a colts Jersey in the not too distant future.

Reading between the lines I don't think it's unfair to suggest he might just value him better than Russ
"They're both highly intelligent, both make plays with their feet and both have great arms. I don't want to take it any further than that."

Bit of a shame, if just for the reason that it gave them more opportunity to keep hyping Luck
"Luck combines many of the best traits from Manning and Elway. It's not crazy to espouse the belief that he will one day surpass their greatness." - Harrison

EDIT: Apologies, just seen it in NFL NATION board!

Odd comment to make considering the guy throwing to him may have a case to make down the road.

For some reason I just don't feel it with Luck. He's got all the physical tools and intelligence you can ask for in a QB, but he strikes me as a guy that doesn't really have that will to win or killer instinct.

Could be 100% wrong, but that's what I get from listening to him talk and watching him play.

If he said Russ was better this week before playing the Colts it would be bulletin board material. I don't think you can really jump to the conclusion that he thinks Luck is better. He stopped the comparison short because no matter which way he would go it gets him in trouble. Very smart if you ask me.

It really doesn't matter if he thinks Luck is better anyway. I think fans of both teams are extremely happy with each player.

Truthfully the whole vibe of that was that he didnt want to have to say that he thinks Luck is better than his own QB for obvious team reasons.
But you dont say he can be the best of all time and NOT imply that you dont think others arent as good as him.

Doug has expressed his desire to "play for Seattle for a long time" on numerous occasions, he also has been been vocally supportive of his old quarterback he played with in Stanford. It doesn't mean he doesn't like Russell or wants to play in Indianapolis. He's allowed to be a friend and fan of other players on other teams you know.

I think he could be too. Luck can do it all. I can't think of a single area he is bad. And he's already atleast average to pretty good at everything. He makes throws RW3 can't. Like the delayed screen and the lateral pass. He doesn't have to take as deep of drops as RW3 either because he see's the field easier.

Just to be clear, I love Doug, and I'm not sure anyone's catered to the idea he doesn't like Russell? But his desire to "play for Seattle for a long time" means relatively little. I bet a lot of players in that dressing room do, I guarantee M-Rob wanted to finish his playing days in Seattle; look what happened to him (I harbour hope he still will). I'm just saying it wouldn't surprise me if I saw him catching passes from Luck again!

With Doug coming up for RFA next year, he probably sees that nothing is guaranteed. Early in his pro career he talked about wanting to be here forever. Then he saw how the business side of things work. I think he was just feeling it as he showed the doubters that he did belong in the NFL and was on a crusade to stick it to all that passed on him. Now he is just being a little more reflective about it all.

Luck was his team mate and part of his college ties. He stated prior to Luck coming out that he thought the world of the guy. I'm sure he went to the temple of Russell Wilson and asked for forgiveness for this transgression.

Cant blame Baldwin for expressing his opinion. I think he's mistaken but he is allowed.

We also haven't really begun to attempt to sign any of our draft classes. Its easy math. We aren't going to be able to keep everyone. We arw pretty much at cap with Russ, Sherm, KJ, Wagner, Baldwin, etc all playing on peanut rookie deals.

There was another thread on this.

He certainly could. Peyton is setting the bar right now though.

I have no problems with this. It beats the canned nonsense most jocks spew.

Seems Baldwin was sure Matt Flynn was the best quarterback for the job not too long ago.

As long as he keeps making plays it's all good.

My guess is that we'll see Wilson vs Luck in at least one Super Bowl in their careers.

I think they're both going to be great for a long time. Who will be better? We'll know in about a dozen years.

Wilson is better out of the pocket Luck is better inside the pocket, at least so far this season. Luck is better throwing over the middle , Wilson is better at extending plays and improvisation, in fact he's the best in the league at it. They have different skillsets. As far as who will ultimately have the most success we'll see. There both accurate and smart.
