Ok if that’s how ya feel it’s fine with me.

IMO, just because one pile of shit stinks less, that doesn’t make it good. It’s still just a pile of shit.
Yes but in the many travels of life there will always be shit and if it smells just a little less I’ll take it because I’ve been existentially oppressed by the tyrants of mine own mind.

I get it but….

The new kick off is still stupid even if we agree that it’s a little less stupid than a previous rendition.

The whole game is becoming something that is better to be played on a gaming console rather than participate in real life. Most everything seems to be this way.

I haven’t really formed an opinion one way or another. But after watching college football yesterday, I kind of miss the old kickoffs.

Right, everything has to be changed no matter if it wasn't broke before.

It certainly doesn’t add anything to the game.

Might as well just pick a line 20-30 yard line and let each team start from there.

Do you like it?

Back in the Day, kick offs were one of the exciting parts of a football game.
I mean, when something exciting happens, I do.

Kickoffs are usually boring, even back in the day. The increased ability of kickers to kick the ball completely out of play has led to even more touchbacks.

This change has led to more returns. Like most returns in NFL history, most of them don't lead to much, but there have been a handful of exciting ones.

Honest question..

What would you suggest? What would you change ?

Just an idea :

Why not just put each team on say ..the 40 yard line and move the kicker back to the 15 or 20 yard line . Both lines can't move until the receiving team has possession of the ball . If the ball doesn't land in the end zone, the receiver doesn't have the option of downing or fair catch?

Depends on one’s definition of broken. I bet the NFL cash machine says one man’s broken is their increased profits.

the small wrinkles like the kickoff are non issues for me. I think it’s fine as is sans shitty officiating at times.

But to answer - I would ensure everyone plays naked and then the more insecure of us have to wrestle with our real feelings. That’s how you save the nfl

To me it's just turned out to be much ado.

I don't know the precise metrics but if I had to guess, I would say 90% are touchbacks, automatically 30 yard line.

Yawn.

I remember in the preseason Mike Mac made a comment that once the games begin for real, most teams are going to kick the ball in the endzone.

Yep.
