Kind of hinted that ET could play this week but also suggested that hamstrings are particularly important for people in those positions. So I'm thinking both might miss 2 games. That would give them close to 21 days or rest (depending on how much they practice).

Earl will not play. he is too valuable going forward, same with Shead. 1st degree sprains. (which fortunately is the mildest).

I think they will hold Earl out to make sure he heals up for the playoff run.

Shead I think will play. Pete mentioned in the post game presser that Shead had tweaked his hamstring earlier in the week (not in the Philly game, must have been in practice) and that he tried to go for the game but just couldn't "get it loose" so they decided to pull him. From what I heard it doesn't sound like Shead hurt it anymore it was just an instance of being cautious because it wasn't feeling right when he tried to go. He'll be in next week.

No way Earl plays this weekend.

No reason to push him for one game against Tampa and risk him hurting the hammy even more..........not with a 3 1/2 game lead in our division.

I agree. It was brought up in the context of Earl not having missed a game before.

I dont think players and coaches look at injuries like fans do. IMO they look at the player and injury for exactly what it is. If he can play then he does. If not ready they wait. No matter schedule or opponent or standings.

Let them get their rest and heal up. Bucs arent really that big of a threat.

I missed the part where Carroll addressed Bennet. Sounds like he will likely be playing this week.

It's not "can play" or not, the player has to be effective and not risk further injury to whatever injury they're dealing with.

An o-lineman with a bad hammy? Probably OK to play cause their range of motion is literally 5-10 yards. DB's and WR's that stretch that hamstring out on literally every play? No, can't risk it. Gotta be fully healed or else they can pull it or even tear it.

This is what I mean when I say you don't push a player like Earl, or Shead.

I would think Neiko Thorpe and Steven Terrell will get the starting nods for the Tampa Bay. The Eagle game was a good warm up for them. They can handle Tampa Bay.

I disagree that the Bucs aren't a threat. They just beat a 7-2 Kansas City team on the road yesterday. That's not easy to do at Arrowhead.

Yep, Bucs are no pushover, and with our new injuries definitely have to firepower on offense to make this game closer than it would be with healthy RB's and DB's.

I also don't get all those acting like the Buc's are the Cleveland Browns or something. The Buc's are a decent team with a lot of young talent and a good young QB. With the injury bug biting so hard yesterday that makes this game even more important to me. We need that bye week come playoff time and we need to give ourselves a chance to win this next game to stay ahead for the 2nd spot because it doesn't look like Dallas is going to be giving up that top spot anytime soon...

Good thing our offense is stepping up right now because this Bucs game might be a shootout. It seems like whenever this defense is missing Kam or ET it loses a step.

If we still have Kam and Bennett, we should survive. The offense may need to put up 28 to win, but that doesn't look impossible after the last couple weeks.

If we almost did it against the #1 defense, we can probably do it on a mediocre one, even if it is on the road.
