Take the drop and if nothing is there throw it away. He’s had a couple of these mental mistakes today

Geno has to throw the ball and not take a sack. So frustrating watching him!

Looked great until Smith became hesitant and got the grounding. If in doubt be quick and aggressive.

And then sometimes - he does that. So frustrating.

the inconsistency is so hard to deal with. Obviously it is great to get the TD - but damn.

Nothing wrong with taking an intentional grounding in n that situation. Worst case scenario is better than a sack, where you might lose a second or two before the timeout it taken.

But he can throw it away?
Would have to get outside of the pocket. Otherwise, he'd have to make a too-quick decision and try to throw the ball into the field of play with his legs wrapped, which is how turnovers happen.

When he threw the ball that bounced off Charb's hands to avoid a sack earlier in the year, consensus was (dumbfoundingly) to "take the sack."
