Excellent Film Breakdown of Drake Thomas

Here's an excellent film breakdown of Drake Thomas. IMHO Thomas and Ty Okada are the two biggest player surprises this season. Drake Thomas film breakdown.

    Jalen Sundell

I noticed the same thing. I need to go back and look at the all 22 to see how much of the improvement in the run game was because Olu was at center.

49ers beat writer (David Lombardi) on Seahawks/Niners matchup

The front seven of your defense is not particularly good? He needs to do more research.

    Cutdown to 53 is tomorrow

The more I think about this (cutting both NT), the more I think there might be something to the Mazi Smith rumors. Trade for Smith and sign Pili and/or Bohanna to the practice squad. At least one should clear waivers.

    Initial Roster is Set

Right now, the only workaround I see is playing Murphy to NT, which I believe MM said he didn't want to do.

    Initial Roster is Set

This is my number one question...who's going to play NT?

    Cutdown to 53 is tomorrow

I think it's a perfect receiver room for this offense. Most are great route runners (Young still needs work, but is much better) and almost all can block (not sure about Horton's blocking). The only thing I need to see is Horton becoming the field stretcher they seem to think he is, although I...

Seahawks trade OT Michael Jerrell to Falcons

This surprises me. Given his athletic profile I thought he would make the team. The Hawks didn't even cut him and try to sign him to the practice squad. Instead they traded him for a bologna sandwich.

    Mazi Smith?

Mazi Smith and a seventh round pick for a sixth? I would make that trade in a second. He's an absolute freak of an athlete and still real young.

    Bobo has a Concussion

While Bobo's injury sucks, the Hawks have made it through camp in pretty good shape. The team isn't dealing with issues like the 9ers and Rams are. Finger's crossed that this is a relatively healthy season for the Hawks. And here's hoping I didn't just jinx them.

Is Bobo better than Dareke Young?

Heh :ROFLMAO: If you're expecting me to spend hours going through YouTube videos looking for examples of Bosworth getting beat in coverage, sorry, but that's not happening. :) I'm okay with you believing that Bosworth was a quality prospect who had some bad luck with injuries as long as you're...

Is Bobo better than Dareke Young?

To be fair, Boz wasn't the only one Bo trucked during that period. Hell, to really stop Bo you needed at least one and preferably two Abrams tanks. Bo Jackson is probably the most incredible athlete I've ever seen on a football field. 6' 1", 230, and ran a 4.13 at his pro day at Auburn. He was...

    Wednesday Injury Updates Nwosu OUT

Huge news. I've been concerned about the Hawks' depth behind Mafe, Hall and Lawrence. Hopefully he'll be active week one against the niners.

Is Bobo better than Dareke Young?

If I'm remembering the article I read correctly (which was close to 40 years ago), using steroids, Bosworth added muscle mass that his body couldn't support and then lifted weights heavier than his frame could handle, which damaged his shoulder joints. He had a good rookie year up to the point...

Is Bobo better than Dareke Young?

Brian Bosworth was a two time Butkus Award winner and an absolute beast at Oklahoma. The Seahawks selected him in the first round of the 1987 supplemental draft, which, if I remember correctly, cost them their first round pick in the next regular NFL draft. The Seahawks signed him to a record...

Is Bobo better than Dareke Young?

If they keep 6 WRs then they probably keep only 3 RBs, which means either Holani or (more likely) Damien Martinez are released. This may come down to who JS thinks he can sneak through waivers and sign to the practice squad.

Is Bobo better than Dareke Young?

Hm...It seems your historical knowledge of the Seahawks is somewhat limited. I'm guessing you weren't around when Brian Bosworth was playing. Bosworth is the most overrated and overhyped player in Seahawks history and it's really not close.

Is Bobo better than Dareke Young?

I think both Bobo and Young have passed MVS on the depth chart. MVS is a one trick pony and it sound like Horton is better at that trick. And as previously mentioned, if you're a #4 or #5 receiver, you have to play on special teams and MVS hasn't had many special teams reps since 2018.

Is Bobo better than Dareke Young?

I'm certainly not suggesting that Bobo is our best receiver. Right now, my guess is he's #4 behind JSN, Kupp, and (according to reports) Horton. Having said that, he has excellent hands, runs great routes, and is one of the better blocking WRs in the league, which is important in Kubiak's zone...

Is Bobo better than Dareke Young?

I don't think the question is Bobo or Dareke Young. I think it's Dareke Young or MVS, and I think Young wins. Bobo is reliable, has great hands, and most importantly, is the best blocking WR on the roster. Young is having a great camp and is one of the Hawks' better special teams players. MVS...
