More successful NFL career, Dart or Sanders?

I voted Dart, but only because Cleveland. It’s where even good quarterbacks go to die. Put into similar situations, both with the chance to sit behind a quality starter, on a team with a quality coach and OC, for a year or two, I think Sanders comes out ahead.

Are Brock Purdy’s day in SF numbered?

We are back to the same, “is it Brady, or is it Belichick” question. (Not suggesting that either are near the coach/ player as the comps.) I suspect the best bet for Purdy is to take something in the 40-45 APY from the Niners. Despite Shanahan’s tendency to get his QBs injured, it’s still the...

    Niners just paid Kittle

Such a great question, without an easy answer. I see them as roughly equivalent contracts for their positions. It really comes down to the system they are playing in. On the Seahawks, under Grubb, I’m taking the Kupp contract. Easy answer. On the Niners, under Shanahan, Kittle has proven to...

And the OG Easley was 45.

    Salary Cap

I don’t think I’ve ever seen that done, but neither can I see why it couldn’t. It would make more sense to just keep the cap space on the books, to be paid when it is due. Every dollar of cap space this year is worth more than every dollar spent in future years.

    Salary Cap

Whatever we haven’t spent at the end of the year can be carried forward to be spent next year. I’m not aware of any limit on the amount that can be carried forward. 89% of the cap space must be spent in every four-year period. Theoretically, I believe that a team could field an entire team...

    Niners just paid Kittle

And that was just in the two games against the Hawks, or at least it felt like that.

    Seahawks Post-Draft Roster Needs?

Emmanwori will be in at corner for nickel and dime packages in MM’s scheme. Two birds one stone.

Why Milroe was a GREAT pick!!

Agree, for a slightly different reason. Milroe doesn’t need to have success at the QB position to be a good use of a third round pick. If all he does is provide Taysom Hill level, decoy trickery, it’s a good use of a third round pick. Not great, but good. If he fails as a QB, and finds...

POLL: Are You A Draft Grumbler?

I don’t pay close enough attention to the greater world of college ball to formulate an opinion on which players are best. I’m pretty comfortable with my read on players from the teams I watch, and how they might fit into the pro teams I follow. I’m never particularly disappointed in drafts...

This is the best draft in over 10 years

Seemed like a theme to this Seahawks draft. I like that.

Glad to see Mellott get a shot. He deserves one.

    Sam Howell traded to Vikings

But, but, they didn’t draft MY piece of crap.

    Pick 142: Rylie Mills

Supposedly, per him, he will be “fully healthy” by training camp.

He is expected to be “fully healthy” by training camp.

    Four picks one OL selected

Agree, with the caveat that, if you plan to stock your o-line cupboard only with mid to late round, JAG talent, may as well stock it with JAGs who are on their first contract.

This was not a JS draft. It was a MM draft.

Well, he did win the William V Campbell trophy, which is the academic Heisman. Close enough?

NFL announces Hawk-Eye technology for first downs.

Forgot to add, the 40 seconds, per measurement, saved will, of course, be perfect for slipping in a few more ads during the game. What, you thought the NFL was going to all this expense just to improve the flow of the game? LOFL

NFL announces Hawk-Eye technology for first downs.

It’s not going to be used to spot the ball. That will still be up to the on field officials. Once the ball is spotted, it will be used to determine if the spot is good for a first down, instead of bringing chains out to measure. The chains will serve a backup role, in case this system goes down...
