    Any great defenses left?

Bears and Jags were supposed to be great and they got waxed today. Vikes have been very inconsistent. Is Dallas actually the best defense?

This team should make the playoffs

Playing at this level, there's no reason they shouldn't. 7-3 over the next stretch seems tough on paper, but, again, if they continue to build on recent success, they should make it happen. I'm not sure if they will, but we should expect them to, barring any major injuries. Wright should be...

710 (Salk) going on about Doug and Russ

Am I missing something here? He's talking as if Doug was one of the sources for those ESPN articles and that Doug has been talking behind Russ' back. Was this ever confirmed? A quick google search turned up nothing for me on that front. Salk went as far as to predict this is Doug's last season...

    Special Teams have been bad

Aside from Dickson punting, which hasn't been as amazing as some of us hoped so far, we aren't looking good on special teams. Seabass concerns aside, I'm mostly talking about returning and coverage. Lockett had one really good return, but I think he lost yards on every other kickoff return...

Why is scoring lots of points bad?

I was just listening to Brock Huard and he was scoffing at Matt Ryan throwing almost 800 yards and 8 TDs with 0 picks the past two games because the Falcons lost. I don't get the condescending attitude towards putting up buckets of points at all, can someone explain this? The Falcons defense is...

Sheldon Richardson Tied for Lead in DT Pressures

https://twitter.com/PFF/status/1043134515063992320 Another departed player balling out. This one hurts. They traded a second round pick and let him walk for a one year $8M deal.

NOTE: This requires a subscription to view, but I have summarized the main points https://theathletic.com/532852/2018/09/ ... -vs-bears/ Samuel Gold has been doing excellent film breakdowns on the Hawks for a couple years and now works for The Athletic. He broke down each of the six sacks...

Why Will Pete Not Accept Innovative Offense?

Seriously, I want to know why. Anyone have any insight? We see what McVay, Shanahan, DeFillipo, Reid, Pederson, McDaniels, Payton, and Nagy are doing. You need the personnel - Nagy is a little hamstrung by Trubisky right now, but damn some of those quick hitting plays were very nice. Got the...

    Frank Clark Playing Hurt?

I don't mean the "everyone plays with an injury" type of hurt, I mean "seriously impacting his play snap to snap" kind of hurt. https://twitter.com/mattyfbrown/status/1041880461948190720

New roughing the passer rule worse than helmet rule?

Going off the GB game and the fact that a ton of these calls happened last week, I find the roughing rule modification more worrisome. Some of the hits on the QB look perfectly clean. Meanwhile, the new helmet to helmet rule seems to get called very rarely.

    SDB: Seattle's Deep Ball Issues

Lots of fantastic articles about Seattle's offense this week! I really liked the point about how they adapted the offensive gameplan against the Eagles where they got the ball out really quickly and Wilson excelled - yet they seemed to refuse to do this since. The deep ball obsession needs to...

Niners Defense Very Impressive in Week 1

Watched the Vikings/Niners game on Game Pass. Thought the Niners D played really well and held what should be a really good Vikings offense to 17 points. DeForest Buckner is an absolute monster on the inside, the rookie Warner looked really good, and I like the safeties. They're going to be...

[Rumor] Wilson's agent seeking to "extract" him from SEA?

I was listening to the Around the NFL podcast from 8/22 just now and they did a segment with Dameshek about which coaches are on the hot seat this season. One of the coaches they discussed was Pete Carroll, and this is what Dameshek had to say: No desire to discuss SB49 here, just the fact...
